  Oh wow, a hard kick in the childhood felt there.
  
  Only other movie I remember him being in other than Ghostbusters was Stripes. I loved that one too.

  Out of all the actors in Ghostbusters he seemed the most grounded in the few times he appeared on TV and such. I don't think he understood how much of a 80's pop culture icon Egon Spengler was.
  You can have Ghostbusters without the other 3 but you had to have Egon, that character is up there with Optimus Prime and Lion-O.

  He will be remembered as a brilliant comedic writer, responsible for such classics as Animal House, Caddyshack, Stripes, Ghostbusters, Back to School, Groundhog Day, and Analyze This.
