New Single Blade Powers suggestion

I made this suggestion awhile ago and recently somebody else was asking for some Single Blade Love. And well here's what I came up with last year...with a few changes to the power suggestions.

The current Single Blade powers work well for the basic Knight, Ninja, Samurai style of characters and even have several of the general weapon skins for them. What it doesn't have is the powers to be a Duelist. We do have the weapon and costume skins available but no real powers that make use of them in their most effective means. And what I mean by duelist isn't somebody who runs around Ren Cen challenging randoms to Duels. what I mean is basically a European style Fencer.

Powers

1. New Energy Builder
Pret - simple quick thrusts of the blade jabbing the point repeatedly at the targets. Piercing Damage
+has a 15% chance on the initial attack to cause the target to begin bleeding.
+Generates Energy
2 point advantage to cause all attacks to have a chance to cause the target to bleed.

2. New AoE power

Allez - Cone AoE - Rapidly thrust the blade similar animation to One Hundred Hands only with the blade clearly being the object moving. Piercing Damage
+Maintain AoE
+Each tick has a chance to apply bleeding to all targets with a full maintain guaranteeing stacks being applied.
1 point advantage causes all bleeds to be refreshed.

3. New Lunge

Leaping Thrust - Lunge forward with the tip of your blade leading the way. Has all the standard Lunge features. Piercing Damage.

4. New Passive

En Garde - Starts with 8 Stacks of and return to a new mechanic called "Readiness" At R1. Readiness reduces all incoming damage by a sliding scale equal to sustained blocking. Its Damage reduction loses effectiveness as you take damage. Outside of combat you regain the lost stacks over time back to your maximum number available. In Combat you can regain stacks by using the new block power (Beat Parry) listed below. Anytime you dodge an opponent's attack you will also regain stacks of Readiness. at R2 the number of stacks available doubles to 16 and the damage reduction increases to match that of Regeneration's. At R3 the number of stacks doubles once again to 32 and the damage reduction equals that of Regeneration's + Sustained blocking with an R1 Block Replace power.
+Defensive Passive

5. New Block Power

Beat Parry - Follows the Block animation from Guard in Heavy Weapons. Blocking with this power will restore stacks of Readiness.
3 - Point Advantage - Riposte - If used to block and the target is in melee range a portion of the incoming damage will be reflected back with the addition of minor piercing damage.

6. New PbAoE

Moulinet - Un-targeted PbAoE performs a circular spin striking all targets in melee range with the tip of the sword. On full charge applies bleed to these targets. Slashing and Piercing Damage

7. New Single Target Power

Zornhau - A single powerful downward in a Right-Left Diagonal movement causes Bleeds to Rupture. Slashing Damage

8. New Form - Form of the Fencer - builds stacks of Focus like other Martial Arts Forms. This Form would allow for those using the Laser Sword, Heavy Weapons, Brick, Single Blade, Fighting Claws or Infernal: Bestial to have another option for a Form...mostly Laser Sword. As Laser Sword doesn't have one specifically for it...

+ Whenever you apply or refresh a stack of Bleed, Plasma Burn, Stagger, Shredded or Disorient you gain a stack of Focus.

9. New Power - Flashing Blade - uses the single Ego Blade animation for Ego Blade Frenzy as a maintain for another Single Blade AoE maintain. It would have the same properties as Eye of The Storm with its Damage Shield would provide roughly half of what Eye of the Storm provides.

+ New Advantage - Reflection - When in Melee half the damage absorbed is reflected back at the attacker as Penetrating Damage. Penetrating Damage is only resisted by Resist All damage.

For the Single Blade

New Lunge -

Iaijutsu - Character dashes forward with his/her hands on his/her waist and swings the blade in a sweep across the front hitting all targets in a cone in front of you. It fuses the animation of Scything Blade and adds the forward movement of Decimate. see here at about 0:48 for an example
+All the standard Lunge Advantages.

The passive would have to have the damage Resistance reduction go down pretty damn fast for this to not be horribly over powered, after all, a standard stained block gives 200% damage reduction, which is enough to cut most incoming damage down to 25-30% of it's intinal value(unless the person attacking you has some ungodly def pen) combine that with a tank build and you're looking at an easy 300-350% damage reduction on the person without blocking or using an AD, when combined with your new block idea....well, lets just say that the person using the damn thing would be nearly impossible to hurt without def pen and effectively impossibly to kill if they have block-toggle and a half decent heal

so.....sything blade , except it applies bleed to all targets then?

The stacks fall off as you would take damage...similar to how Defiance works only in reverse...I guess the defensive capabilities would be equal to Defiance...rather than my original idea...but basically it starts at maximum effectiveness but as you get hit the stacks fall off never completely falling off because you'll always have at least one stack active.

What I was meaning with the original idea anyway is that it would start out that effective but eventually as you took damage you would effectively have damage reduction equal to Unstoppable.

and Moulinet is more of the single blade's version of Sword Cyclone from Dual Blades it's untargeted, and yes applies bleed to all targets it hits on a full charge/maintain however it gets implemented if they choose to go with it.

set it up so that you have a defense % per stack, you lose one stack after taking X(~500, maybe scaling?) amount of damage (otherwise rapid fire attacks would murder your ****) but that raises the question......do you have each stack give a stat scaling amount like defiance does with con (12-21%) or do you have it fixed at a set amount?

personally I think it should scale from 5-12%(maybe less) with dex, after all at rank 3 you'd have 36 stacks of the damn thing....that'd be a LOT of def

That actually sounds kind of viable. And would work well with the concept behind the power.

LOL negativity from another overly cynical <expletive deleted> on the internet. Can we give him a round of applause please? I mean its such a new concept to be a douche on the internet we should give him a prize...oh wait...I am I'm feeding the Troll...

After having designed a neat witch/Zorro hybrid, and gotten the fantasy pack so I could give her the beautiful rapier, I would certainly like to see more done with single blade powers.
Particularly lunging and blocking with a sword. Why stand there with your hand up to "parry" when you have a sword???
Hell, they should make it that the Parry Block will either bring up a hand or a weapon, depending if your hero is unarmed or armed.

That idea you've got there for the current Parry makes sense but since (I'm only speculating here) that power has been around for so long in its current state that modifying its animation to fit that without making a new power might make the hamster go on strike again...
