Worth to return?

Hi, me and a couple of friends used to play this game. Last time we played this game was arround december 2012.

Currently I'm at work and limited to browse the news of 2013. Did they add new content, for example increased level caps, new power frameworks or dungeons which are worth for a comeback?

Best regards Shaffi

I'm no good at chronology, but "recently" they did add a lot of individual powers (Rimefire Burst, for example) and they totally revamped Telepathy, adding a lot of DoT and layer-effect/detonate-effect abilities.

They also changed the way crit/dodge work, although I forget the details (I THINK that, basically, you can't get insane dodge levels without actually devoting power choices to dodge-centered powers and they may have also instituted diminishing returns to prevent untouchable dodgers).

Content-wise, I'm not sure much new has been added; new Alerts, possibly, but I'm not sure if there's been any new solo content added in a while. I don't care for the pick-up-group Alerts, nor the do-it-right-or-die uber-fights in some Alerts (Gravitar, eg). But some may like these new Alerts.

It's free, in any event (unless you want to come back to a freeform character, in which case you'd have to sub for a month)... well worth a visit.

Mhm well there have been a few alerts that have been added and currently on rotation.

Currently they are working on a new rampage and it'll be well worth a try, it may be out in the next month or so. It's hard but has lots of cool mechanics that with teamwork you can work around to beat it.

However as the person said above me there has not been any new "solo content" if you are into that kind of thing in an MMO. ;D

If you need there to be new stuff, then no it's not worth coming back. If you just need the game to still be fun, then yes it's worth coming back.

Well, it wouldn't hurt to login and give it a try to experience all the new things that have been added, for free. If you still have the game client from last year that would minimize the time taken for updates.

We'll be arround 3-4 people, so no solo content is fine by me.

edit: Ok I just checked, last time we played was june 2012

Then it will be worth it.
CO is a great game to play casually with friends.

Come back for the nostalgia bomb for a few months. Leave when that stops being fun.

I think you should roll a silver alt and see for yourself. Or if you're already silver / LTS, just log in. You are the only person that can actually answer this question.

This is something with which I fully agree. One person's fun diversion is another person's pointless waste is a third person's grindfest is a fourth person's... well, you get my drift, I'm sure.

When anyone asks the forum's opinion on virtually anything, especially whether CO is "worth it", the responses always put me in mind of Truman's famous quote about economists - that if you lined them all up end to end, they'd point in all directions.
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!"

Makes me wonder why these people bother posting at all... it actually takes less time to let the launcher patch up the game, log in, and look around for a bit... and it's generally more fun too.

maybe they are just trying to be social? I know when I ask a question and I get someone to tell me about something they enjoyed, it get me excited to do that.

To answer the OP, there were several events that ended in Alerts that are in the rotation so you and your friends can enjoy that, and the new Rampage Alert set up when it is released. Since it has been so long since you last played, I would suggest running the regular content with you buddies, it can be fun and help you get back into the swing of things.

I hear there's a lot of social in the game :O

@OP: Now's actually a good time to come back. Get used to everything so you can go nuts with the rest of us when the Rampage rotation starts.

I agree with jonsills. Best for you if you get in the game and look around for a bit. Check out Alerts and so forth.

    That said...

    1) The Wiki is down. If that's important to you.

    2) No new BIG map has been added in the period you are asking about. (2012 to now).

    3) Question - Did you miss the introduction of ships?

    4) ???
