Mentella.. - First Attempt.

I'll be posting a commission with Mentella in it very soon,

I'll be updating the thread soon (hopefully) with a few commissions. If you know any one who is specifically good for commissions or who does group pictures quite well, feel free to mention them!!

I am VERY grateful to the members of the community who so kindly drew Mentella! Even though done in different styles, she looks perfect.

I must say, from this drawing, it would seem her powers are mental blades. Which is awesome, but in champions online mental knives are Telekinesis

Thanks ^^ I loved the bracers from PSI so i had to add them in XD. She is capable of psychic knife generation though... How do you think she taught Mind Slayer to be an effective assassin ;-).

I honestly wasnt aware of Mentalla until I had made Mentella.

I don't think either of them wear quite what Mentella does, and as gamehobo rightly pointed out Mentella was the First Lady of PSI (founding member and all, as well as training Mind Slayer), it's all on her PRIMUS Page.

I really love this ! I just feel like the art is amazing, but you could have done it justice by colouring it with photoshop or something like that. The stance is also totally fascinating, I'm especially jealous of the hands, I can't draw hands

Edit : In fact, while waiting for the too long maintenance, I've started to do an outline of your drawing and I may colorize it when I grab some time

I just like doing this. Stay tuned !

Can't believe I had never been to this part of the forums until recently. How cool is it, that I get to see the artwork done by you guys around here, some really amazing stuff, I'm blown away! You are all wildly talented and inspiring. Keep'em coming, please!

So. TheRavenForce, that said, I decided to make my own first attempt, using your girl Mentella (based off the first couple drawings), don't fancy myself a real artist or nothing, but I found her so interesting and was inspired, hope you don't mind?

(Great character, btw! Concept down to costume, everything, awesome)! Plus it's so cool how (I keep seeing) you helping people out in the forums (might reach out to you one of these days, for Telepathy advice...)? Well, anyway, here goes, hope you like it!

It's yours, feel free to remove/use/edit as you please; also any alterations you'd like done (that I can manage) I'd be glad to help.:)

Heck yeah, I love PSI! Something riveting about those evil bastards, I can't explain. VIVA PSI!!! lol Back in the day I was one of many *begging* for those PSI pieces when they were only a distant dream...

The bracers and shoulder pads: I'd say they were the most challenging. This was all done in vectors, not my strongest suit - but I have difficulty making cartoonish drawings free-handed or in other programs. I just basically, more often than not get carried away, and stuff tends to get either realistic or messy. Even with vectors, with a lot of work and skill I'd say it's quite possible to get a more realistic style - but I was aiming for that specific cartoon sorta vibe, and just had to know the right time to stop and let it go. So I decided to send the untouched original, with that in mind but also so that more could be done with it, so to speak. I'd have added a bit more contrast to begin with... but again, knowing when to stop.

Make no mistake, every time I take so much as a second look at something I drew, I'll see something wrong, and often feel like starting from scratch. In a way that's a good thing as I'm learning as I go. But had I kept working on Mentella, at this juncture I'd probably given her some highlights, lowlights, extra-volumizing mascara, a fake tan... so, it's prolly a good thing that I stopped, right?...lol, j/k. Just, again, really glad you liked it!

And VIVA PSI!!! :biggrin:

It's coming up for a while since I had a look at commissions for Mentella...

I have a few ideas for her to be paired with her younger sisters, ForceGirl and Techna Ology.

Preferably in a battle ground setting, does anyone know any artists who are especially good for that sort of thing?

If so I'd be happy to hear your suggestions!

So far I only know of Zachula and Alex Dai, but I'd like to check out a few more styles before I am certain.

Juggertha was a popular artist in the CoH FArt community. He does freaking awesome stuff, especially action/group shots, and I think he's still taking commisions.

I don't know if Foo does as much action shot stuff, but you may want to look at his stuff too, it's all really good. I think I've even seen him around these forums as well.
