Second Travel Power at earlier level, please.

Waiting to reach level 35 for our second travel power is ridiculous. We really need our second travel power much sooner.
For some of us, it's very necessary to have two travel powers, and having to play the majority of the game with just one travel power can be miserable.

For example, I have a hero who started off with Ninja Vanish to help me escape danger, and it helped me out, big time.
Throughout gameplay, I started to cover more land and needed a travel power for long distance travel. I already had Cape Glide planned, but had to wait until the endgame missions to get it!

I believe we all would love to receive our second travel power at around level 20-25.
It would make life in Champions Online much more enjoyable.

    Or you could just buy a vehicle. I hear they're on sale now.

    You could also get a Become device.

    I like this idea. Personally, I think we need to get more of our powers in general earlier.

    Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.

    Why are some of you shooting down this suggestion?
    I think it's a very humble and fair request.

    chaoswolf820 made a good point. Getting a vehicle or turning into a ghost or something doesn't suit every character.
    I have a character in the works who is a cavewoman, and I already got her athletics but I really need vine swing too.

    Support is much appreciated.

    Because it's been axed before.
    It fergs up how the power progression happens.
    And stuff.
    Heck, even Ewoks can drive hover bikes.

    A solution, for characters with concepts not working with well vehicles, could be a Travel Powers Device:

    For the time being I advice to use a become device in a completely OOC way. Both become ghost and become destroid can be obtained from auction house, and are great for leveling squishy ATs. OOC of course.

    But then, I'm not taking my leveling In-Character. Or I'm leveling in alerts.

    On a related note, waiting until 20 for rank 2 and 40 for rank 3 on travel powers is ridiculous, especially when literally any other power can be rank 3 the moment you have enough points for it. It really needs to be lowered to something more reasonable like 10 for rank 2 and 20 for rank 3.

    Travel Power ranks should have no level requirements, just like any other power.

    This limitation serves nothing, is tiresome and ridiculous.
    It's a bad design.

    It's leftover from the days when a level increase was planned (35 makes a lot more sense when 50 was the intended cap).

    So yeah, I'd be up for dropping the level for your second travel power.

    I always felt that R2 should come at lvl17 because you essentially start the game at lvl6. But R3 should come no later than lvl30 because once you get it at lvl40, you have next to no reason to use it.

    No. I'm not into it. Why ? Because the game has been slipping more and more into that "Have everything now and for money" thing. This adds really short term stuff to do.
    So now "have everything now and for free" is even worse, next thing you'll ask is : can we start at level 40 please ? You'll get bored out of your characters even faster, and champions online won't be champions online anymore, it'll be the sims or a puppet game or something but not a healthy mmo.
    This is why I'm in favor of more difficult content, more hard-to-get things and a level cap raise. You need to feel a progression in the game, reaching all the cool things early might seem cool at first, but in the end it really drives you off.

    It's already free so that part of your complaint doesn't matter. The problem is the logic of the placement in the development of the character.

    If the game had a lot to do at level cap then everything coming into the game in the mid 30s would make more sense. As it stands now you have two woefully under-used maps... Which I admit could be easily fixed by having better rewards at the end of those long tombs (Look at the Underdark missions in Neverwinter for example)... a second TP that has little use at that point, and a final rank of speed that you enjoy for a week before rolling a new toon because you can only do the UNITY dailies so many times.

    Since a raise in level cap/ new map/ pile 'o' missions is as likely as me single-handedly winning the Super Bowl, it makes sense to move what the game does offer around so it progresses more evenly.

    next thing you'll ask is : can we start at level 40 please ?

    Why would that be the next thing we ask for? Why would you even think that that would be the next thing that we ask for? There's really no logical link between wanting the second travel power sooner and wanting to remove the leveling process entirely, especially when you consider that we want the second power sooner to improve the leveling process.

    I think getting a second Travel Power somewhere between Ls 20-25 would be great, so +1 to the OP.

    I also concur that TP ranks should be applied like any other power. In other words, whenever you have the necessary Advantage Points, you should be able to apply them to the TP.

    It does seem like there's too much a leveling gap between the first TP and the 2nd- by the 2nd TP you're almost at the end game already. Making it avail a bit earlier would be a more natural progression curve.

    i completely agree with ya gynomight. some characters go for a theme build and why spoil a theme build with a vehicle or a become device. i do think the second travel power should come sooner and i also i agree with what that other guy said on how there shouldn't be level requirements for increasing the level of a travel power

    this is one of my pet peeves in video games, save all the best stuff for the end of the game and thats really not how you get the most outta your new goodies

    and for those of you who just shot gynomight down.. shame on you. its a good suggestion and its a shame they didn't take it into consideration before. but just shooting her down won't get the suggestion brought to light will it? post positive if you want it. if not go post about something else elsewhere

    See, problem is... You and OP are thinking logical.
    Logic isn't exactly something that was often used by Cryptic, when making this game. :biggrin:

    I agree completely with this completely... to wait to 35 really takes the fun out of it, if anything the 2nd power should become available around 28 at the latest. Seriously, what harm is there in having multiple travel powers at all?
