Some of the characters in my champions list fight alongside me in battle as sidekicks.

Sigh......Patiently waiting.....cryptic.

And if the backup devices were supposed to be a preview of this, 30 minutes is a long time, but man, nothing would beat the feeling of being able to call them up in a fight for even a minute. So much emotions.... Aries Teaming up with Alana would make so much feels! SO MUCH FEELS!

Guess I'm dreamin but man, the dream seems so real.

I'm hoping the Sidekick System they mentioned a year or two ago in a 'state of the game' update is back in the works now that Cryptic North has moved in. They compared it to the Bridge Officer system in STO, which to me sounds like it would be fully customizable AI partners. Maybe they'll bring in some of the Duty Officer system for it to, and let you send your sidekicks out on their own missions.

It would be nice to have some timesink stuff with useful rewards like STO and Neverwinter have, and something like that system would be great for it.

I would have it that they allow us to have a sidekick permanent device that you buy in the C-store where you customize what Arch-type it is, and you can even gear it yourself. Atleast solo players would not feel so alone when playing.

There are no servers in that respect. It's all one, and as each "shard" fills up another opens, but you can travel freely between them. There should be no barrier between you and your brother playing together.

That would be soooo freaking awesome. The DOFF system is a fun and addictive mini-game in STO and this implementation would give CO players a reason to have a ton of alts.

This have been suggest a long time ago when people said something about CO dying. But it's always good to have suggestions like this for a change.

Having either limit or perm customization sidekick device would be awesome, those who play solo would feel bored at some point and this also helps in rp or even movies quite easier.

I'll take this opportunity to plug my own version of the DOFF system for CO, which I call Contacts. Like DOFFs, you get Contacts over time (that is, related to level), and can occasionally run a mission that gets more, but unlike STO, they wouldn't come in great lots - starships can have crews of a thousand or more, but it doesn't really make sense for a superhero to have more than a handful of Contacts. I'm thinking, say, a Contact or two at the local newspaper, maybe a cameraman or second-string reporter for WCOC News, a Significant Other (who might occasionally be kidnapped by your Nemesis, adding in a Nem Mission), somebody in the police department who knows your name and number, that sort of thing.

You'd be able to assign them little side missions that return some XP and a trivial amount of Q (for comparison, the typical DOFF mission in STO rewards 5 Dilithium, or 250 on a critical), and might occasionally, on a critical success, give you a clue to a side mission of your own.

I don't know that this will ever be implemented, I don't even know if it's possible within CO's architecture, but man would I love to see it happen...

It doesnt matter how you launch the game, its all one server. You will be able to play together.

Yeah that's one I'm waiting for too. Customizeable Sidekicks. Then I would actually BUY them.

    I know that feel!

All my characters are supposed to be part of an Alliance and fight together... Seeing only 1 character fighting per time just doesn't make it for me...

I would throw money on 100% Costumizable Permanent Sidekicks, make them powers costumizable via Archetypes and MODs like Gear and Venicles I don't care (as long as their appearence is 100% Costumizable and not like Recolors like Venicles >____>)
    Selling Recolored Venicles >____>

Sidekicks which could be related with the NEMESIS System (you know that fun system that they left to die without Updates and Bug Fixing)
I would even had my Nemesis(es?) as Sidekicks, those guys need more Screentime

A lot of my character concepts require an extra partner around. Here's hoping a full time sidekick system that I can have at least one of them running around with me at all times.

I really hope they start working on the Sidekick System, now that the Aura system is implemeted in game.

It would make running events/missions so much easier for RP instances where I want both...and screenshots...and general awesomeness

I just wonder how it would be pulled off though...would we only have them as a device (unlikely since everyone's builds are different) or would they follow/use a pre-programmed attack pattern or something...or would we have control over them?

I would be awesome, either way!

Most of my toons are heavily interconnected and would normally fight along side each other or just interact, so a sidekick system allowing us to do something like this would be awesome.

Even if their AI and power sets were as simple as our nemesis powers are, I'd still be all for it.

    Absolutly
    1. Character Costumization
    2. Power Choise via FreeForm
    3. Nemesis
    4. Venicles for style
    5. Costumizable Auras

I think Costum Sidekicks SHOULD be the next major update! What is a Hero without his faithful Sidekick anyway?

and Sidekicks would be MORE useful than venicles, since they can be used in 95% of the game and Instances  compared to venicles which are useless the majority of the time
