With all these cutscenes you would expect any good ones to exist but none of them does. Why does none of them show what's at stake, what we should be concerned about, none of our heroes are in danger, nothing teaches morales and settles the dispute between differing parties. There's no spark between two people that were enemies but team up for a brief moment. Nothing, it's just Saturday morning cartoon cliches.
Show a whole school being burned down with trapped children in it to be saved, show the rivalry between two villains, show a torture scene, make people cry when they are held hostage. Outline all the armies a villain has at his disposal and all the control he had gained to make your situation seem helpless, show the struggles a hero had to go through, show the atrocities of the villains, a tragic tale of the villain and how he became one, the decision of a downtrodden hero, the courage of a cowardly hero awakening in the eve of a battle, show how a sadistic villain paints the city red, the resolution of a villain, the reformation of a villain, the death of an important person.
I have to agree I'd like to see some improvements to the cutscenes...
Honestly more than half of the cutscenes in the game could use a complete rework... there are an absurd number of them where at least half of the cutscene is just waiting... this leads to a lot of disconnected lines of dialog and cutscenes that realistically should have been 5 seconds lasting almost a minute.
If a cutscene is required to fill out a certain length of time for loading processes to complete, that's fine... but extend them properly... don't add pauses to everything just to extend time... add to the cutscene... For the sake of example... lets use one of the first cutscenes the player is introduced to after the tutorial.
When you enter the Sewers your're presented with a scene of 2 Purple Gang thugs approaching the ladder and waiting on a drop... this scene is slow, and full of broken dialog due to pauses added to the scene... (the voice acting is a bit uninspired too but that's in a whole different ball park)... the scene wraps up with your character walking out from behind a generator that we were presumably hiding behind the whole time since the ladder they are waiting at is the only way in...
This scene could be improved in several ways... first off have them ask the question "Where's the bags?" as they are approaching... they stop, look around for a moment... the second one heads over and searches a little bit "Dunno boss"... then the bags drop from the sewer entrance... next couple lines, the second one heads to the bags.... a beat up Purple Gang member drops from the sewer entrance as he gets close, followed by your hero jumping down... "It's {insert hero name}! Run for it!"... all of this done with fluidity and no pauses
Those small changes can extend the length of what should have been a 5 second scene to the length they needed it for loading processes without making the scene feel broken and discontinuous... as well as removing the "What the?" moment at the end where we come out from hiding in a location that has been clearly visible to the Purple Gang thugs the whole time.
If we absolutely have to enter from behind the generator then at least add a short clip at the start that shows us hiding back there... This isn't just about making the cutscenes more enjoyable but making them more believable too...
Using music scores at the right time to set the mood, zooming in effects, you know all the right stuff at the right places. None of this happens in this game. It's just a bunch of people standing around talking.
The limited music in this game maybe why that's not done I'm guessing.

Also, the only suggestion that you're actually allowed to make regarding cutscenes is that we be allowed to skip them u_u
My super cool CC build and how to use it.
