Hey, you guys playing this game. I know you're still out there, lurking. Like shadowy superhero ninjas.

anyway, for a long time it's seemed to me that CO is like the red-headed step child of Cryptic. STO and NWO always get the awesome stuff, and we have to live in a closet under the stairs.

But that's kind of our fault, isn't it? I mean NWO and STO have HUGE IP fan-bases built in and corporate backing from outside Perfect World, WE don't. Its as simple as that.

So here's my suggestion for all of you. Let's all go play the game and try, if we can,
to spend money on it.
I hear all the time how everyone hates the lockbox / key structure, and I do to, but if that's how this game NEEDS to be to make money then I feel we should support it.
Its not just lining PW's pockets, its putting cash in Trail's paycheck, its buying Tom or Sue from accounting their next family dinner.

Am I off base? I really want this game to succeed and since its the 'Holiday/giving' season here in America I thought I'd advocate for the troops.
and this is strictly MY opinion, I'm sure no corporate goon is gonna endorse this :)

(also for the record I know some of us do spend our money and that it is hard to come by. so thank you who do for helping me to keep playing a game I enjoy)

It's a nice thought, and I do occasionally spend money on it, but the fact of the matter is, I'd spend more on it if Cryptic put more into it. It's as simple as that.

I have no idea where their funds go. For all I know, Cryptic doesn't feel the game is worth it and isn't willing to allocate the resources to doing more (like the foundry, or updating the hideouts, or giving us new areas to explore or more adventure packs). All that money I've been spending could just be getting rerouted to giving those other games their awesome stuff, and not a penny of it toward CO.

All in all, I'd enjoy it if things worked that way, and I do get what you're saying, but I don't think it's a viable solution. If Cryptic wanted people to spend more money on CO, they'd work harder to make it more attractive to spend money on. The most attractive thing for me that's come up recently has been the Black Friday sale, and that was just on one item.

If Cryptic implements the foundry, or some other major game element that shows they care about it and they aren't just giving us the leftovers that drop from their other games, then they'll get money out of me. I might even buy a lifetime sub.

Crypic is a business. If they want my money, they need to put stuff into the game that I want to buy. I throw money at charities for no reason, not companies.

I don't hate lock boxes, I hate that nearly everything revolves around lock boxes. New event? New lock box! Old event? New lock box! Another alert? New lock box! Bet that auras will be in the winter event lock box. Don't we have enough f-ing lock boxes?

We just got like 4 z-store costume sets in the last month. we got an emote pack. They directly said they're putting auras in the z-store.

Yeah, we have lock boxes. They work. But we're also getting content in the traditional way now. I don't think it's all that bad anymore.

Sidenote, op: I cover just like a ton of subscriptions for random people, and drop at least 20 bucks every 2 weeks on keys or other shiny stuff. I'm with you. The way people say "this game sucks because we get no content" and then refuse to even subscribe to help make content happen? It tickles me. The game's hard up for money, and it's not like development is free. Yet, people still play and ***** about how little we get, without putting any money into the mix to try to get the new content created.

We're past launch, and past our prime. That also means we're past expecting that new content will magically appear without funding.

I help this game make money by buying the Zen all you fine Zen-buyers put on the Q-Exchange. After all, without folks like me, you would have no reason to keep buying Zen, and then no more moneys for Cryptic! :O

PS - i'll start buying Zen again when the prices go down ~w~

It became Cryptic's fault when they blew the huge surplus of money that came with F2P into their other games instead of back into CO.

We're justified in blaming them until we get a full new zone on par to all of Millennium City's content or at least an expansion not unlike what STO received twice. Its perfectly fair that CO takes the profits from their other games, right?

outofworker, I am guessing you are new. LOTS of us blew money on this game, spending more than we should have. What did it get us? STO and NWO. Thats where our money went.

Now I will ONLY spend money on something I like. I am never EVER going to just hand money over to Cryptic. As others have said, this is not a charity. I don't care if buying keys is what THEY want me to buy. THEY are not the Comsumer, I am.

They keep putting out intresting costume sets, they will get my money. Auras, I will most likely spend money, but since Cryptic has stated that we will not be getting the foundry or new zones in the forseeable future, then I will not go out of my way to spend anything extra, for the foreseeable future.

    to spend money on it.

    Counter suggestion:

Put something in the zen store that I might want to buy. Cryptic is not a charity.

The new aura system is a huge step in the right direction in my opinion.

I'm actually an old timer, I bought retail on Sept. 1st 2009 and have been paying monthly since.

When I feel something is amiss, I reserve the right to unsubscribe, and when I like what I see I give money. Its a system that works for me and everyone else can do it their way.

All I 'really' wanted to say was that it takes all of us to help keep the game we love running, I'm not saying I'm naive and realize that Cryptic can funnel our money into whatever they want, they can and they do. I know that.

I just hope that without the corporate backing of big names like Hasbro and (I think) Paramount to back up the game, WE should do what we can to keep CO alive a while longer.

That's not a bad thing, right?

that., and to be honest... I'm really jealous of all the love that STO and NWO get.

    I'm not above admitting that.

Anyone know any substantially wealthy & healthy movie powerhouse or toy company that wants to put out a line of Champions related stuff?
