Aura Preview Video

Since it seems unlikely we'll get an actual one of these, and everyone wants to know what all the auras look like, I threw a video together.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RVW1YlJp1o

Check it out. Shows them all, and some combos.

The rock aura that you mention in the video is linked to costume parts I believe, the rock mountain costumes. You can't get that aura without the stupid costume parts though.

I hope they don't remove auras from costume parts, those rock mountain costume pieces look just like the parts from the rock costume set otherwise.

It is from the new earth passive. All the legacy auras are just copies of the effects from slotted passives.

Yeah, this. All the passives' visual effects are gone, and they're now all 'legacy auras'. I think I forgot to mention it in the video, but everyone gets a token once per character for a free legacy aura, which is cool.

Oh, and thanks from me as well kelplankton! I was on the PTS to check the auras out but I don't know how to make videos, so this is a huge help for folks that don't have the access.

I'm sure it is, but that aura was also on costume pieces from the mountain grab bag, anything called "Rock Mountain" had that aura, not just the chest piece IIRC.

The chest piece added the skin effect. Some other piece, I think the boots but could be the bracers, added the falling rubble.

A correction to something you said in the video:

The "Free" Legacy Auras (ie, purchase with your free aura token) appear to be bound to the character like you said.

The Legacy Auras purchased with Q-nite appear to be Account bound on the PTS.

Just hopped on test. Jewel of Edom aura was still applying with no changes, so I belive that object and costume based auras are still working like normal.

Of course all subject to change depending on future updates.

Yep, the only things that have had their FX removed and turned into auras are Passives, with the exception of Dark Aura, which has gone from a device to an Aura.

This was a really good video. I'm going to look into posting it on Facebook, although I'll need to put a language notice. Very nicely done, man, thanks for making it!

Yeah, I didn't think about the language thing when making it- I'll be more careful about that in the future. My bad. (I was just in normal 'streaming video games' mode, which is much more casual conversationally than something like this probably should have been)

Question: Is the bubble from PFF that is activated on picking up an orb now a legacy aura or is it still attached to the passive?

Yeah, thanks - my ten year-old was in the room when I started watching it. I don't know why kids today think that kind of language is necessary or "cool" - it's neither.

Addendum, I'm wrong apparently. I swear I saw the Q-nite versions were account bound, but they appear to be character bound. =(

Devs, they really should be account bound if it's a purchase and not from the freebie.

It's just how I talk with my friends. Kids aren't generally a concern, and I keep it clean around them. I wasn't expecting this to be something Cryptic actually noticed at all, otherwise I'd have kept it more clean.

But I don't think anyone thinks it's necessary or cool unless they're like 14, it's just a naturalistic way of speaking when you don't have to worry about language.

Great video and I really like the new Aura system (of course as long as there still is the legacy one :p).
I'm just little bit sad for my support sorcerer character. I liked the change of visual while he was changing stance (and passive).

Edit: When the system will be implemented will it be possible to have 2 or more legacy auras?

I got a ton of free tokens from the debug vendor and redeemed them all, one at a time, until I had all the legacy auras.

The other auras (the wholly new ones) are available from the debug vendor and will presumably be in the zen store.

Over 3 years of regular forum activity, and I don't think I've read a single post from you that didn't make you come across as an overwhelmingly unpleasant person. And I halfway agree with your point on this one.

On one hand, I'd personally disagree with that statement. On the other, I still thank you for putting it out there so those who can't get on PTS are able to see it.
