You heard that right: a staff that shoots all kind of bullets. A literal boom stick. Useable in both melee and ranged attacks.
Of course, while the staff itself will be a Martial Arts powerset, capable of being used on it's own, it will also have two mini-sets: one on the Munitions framework (hence the term ''ballistic'') and one for the Sorcery framework (for the wizards).
The normal staff Energy builder, by virtue of being a MA framework, will be melee. Use one of the mini-sets? It will be ranged, with projectiles ranging from tracer bullets to eldritch blasts. The staff can be used as a flamethrower, sniper rifle, medigun, whatever fits your cup of tea.
Any ideas on how to expand it?

Well, to be honest, there's technological staves that shoots energy balls/beams in comics. And since that in Arkham Origins, Deathstroke got one that shoots bullets...
