I've built a tracker for the timers in the Blood Moon event.

It shares the count down timers that people enter. Be sure to read the instructions.

    Cool!

By the way, it's Takofanes and not Therakiel.

That's a handy little program. Nice work.

Hopefully everyone inputs accurate times. I'll update the Takofanes timers when I can.

That's a handy little program. Nice work.

Hopefully everyone inputs accurate times. I'll update the Takofanes timers when I can.

    Some technical details:
    • The values that are shown are the average of the values within the 1st standard deviation of those submitted.
    • If you submit a second value it overwrites your previous value (if any).
    • Once you submit a value you see your value (not the average) until the timer resets.

Hopefully this logic will prevent bad data from messing it up, but we'll see.

Having seen how the first Takofanes rotation played out, a lot of the server averages were significantly inaccurate. It might be simpler to have the server display the most recently input number, rather than average them.

It's the Honor System either way, vulnerable to trolling or accidents. But this way, diligent players can correct an erroneous entry, rather than have it skew the average (and display a false time) until reset. For tight rotations, a difference of only a minute or two can close a window of opportunity.

The offline version is very useful.

    *QUICK UPDATE*

The second Takofanes rotation was much closer on the server. +/- 30 seconds for all 5 zones.

We have been using it for a year or maybe a little more. For internal use it has been very helpful. Remember that you generally show up a few minutes pre-pop anyway. It really maximizes zone hopping while farming.

I hope my post didn't sound critical. I think it's a fantastic system. It certainly beats my cutting-edge "write the time on a napkin" strategy.

Not at all. It took Briz several tries to get a good system that I couldn't screw up. LOL

I appreciate the response carrionbaggage. I want to keep it as-is for now. The algorithm should give a favorable result once enough people are logging the times -- i.e. bad entries should drop off.

If someone that knows math/statistics has a better algorithm for me to use, please let me know.
