The following build contains some updates to the upcoming Takofanes II Lockbox as well as some minor bug fixes.
Release Notes:Preview: - The Debugger's "Upcoming Lockbox" store now directly sells certain items from the Takofanes II Lockbox to simplify testing.
Items: - Gravity Pulse (vehicle weapon) now affects a maximum of five targets per pulse.
- Fixed an issue where vehicles would sometimes become immobile.
- Lordly Takofanes action figure has been raised to gold quality.
- Added a missing FX to Evil Mummy, Evil Frank, and Evil Ghost.
- The Lockbox Booster Box includes Crafting Skill Ups again.
- Items from the Booster Box (Favor of the Champions, XP Boost, Resources Boost) now stack to 999.
Q-Store:- The Q-Store now sells 12-packs of Lockboxes for 2500 Questionite, in addition to single boxes for 250.
Misc: - Loading screens referring to Alert rewards have been updated.

Please stay on topic in this PTS thread. We use bug reports from this thread to decide whether a PTS build is ready to go live, and so we need to make sure we're seeing everything in it. Please do discuss the changes, but if you find yourself writing about something that isn't specific to what's on PTS, then that should probably go elsewhere.
In particular, do not report bugs from the live game in this thread, unless they are impacted by changes in the PTS build.

Is this going to be the trend for vehicle weapons?
On a side note, it'd be nice if aoe in general weren't limited to 5, 10 would be better.

Any chance the rest of the loading screen tips will get updated as well? There are many that are outdated since On Alert. For example, placing first in an open mission no longer gives a chance for a special item. Likewise, the tips involving roles still go by the old Avenger/Brawler/Protector/Sentinel/Guardian names.
What, you mean the limited target thing?
Your average (all of them?) player character power (not vehicle) has a target cap of 5. I can't think of any power that exceeds that off the top of my head (but odds are I'm wrong).
Gravity Pulse is also EXTREMELY ABSURDLY BROKENLY OVERPOWERED right now. Since they can't fix the bug/exploit in how everyone uses it (apparently), they'll fix it by bringing down the target cap to something reasonable (instead of unlimited).
About time as far as I'm concerned.

From the previous patch notes, it'll be both. They'll drop, and you'll be able to buy them. They'll drop as objects in the world though, not "!" icons, and you just have to walk over them to pick them up. Neverwinter-style.
Additionally, keep in mind that you can buy lockboxes in both STO and NW as well from their versions of the Q-Store (and always have been able to AFAIK). And yes, they drop in the open world as well.

Storm of Arrows, Entangling Mesh, and Ego Sleep each have a target limit of 7. Fire All Weapons has a target limit of 10.
You're not the only one with that wish. lol

And I believe unleashed rage has a limit of 10, not 100% sure on that, though.
It does, limit 10 in a 15 feet radius.
for making the boosts stack, getting a bag fiull of resource or xp boosts is annoying and takes a long time to unload
also takes up a lot of bank space.
now I'll be able to clear space for...hmm more mods

Is it going to be OLD LOCKBOXES available in Q-store which don't drop anymore? (like [Takofanes' Cache of Treasures] [Hover Tank Arsenal Lockbox] [Grav Bike Arsenal Lockbox][Forum Malvanum Lockbox] and [SOCRATES' Data Cache] ?
(Who the heck would waste Questionite for Lockboxes)

May I suggest bringing old Grab Bags in Q store as well?
Grab Bags like the Cursed Grab Bag and the Mountain Costume Grab Bag
People WANT the costume pieces from those BAGs, but since they are not available anymore in the game...

If they can fix the target limit that quickly, why not the crit chance on vehicles to help compensate for the loss of damage?
Let's be real here, vehicles can't keep up with regular powers on any real level short of their ability to hit more targets.
If we're going to fix that, could we at least get crit chance and the - res on the vehicle mods working too?

Not going to happen because there are enough people complaining about the only things vehicles are decent at and making it sound like they are the absolute greatest thing at everything ever.

Those are the equivalent of casino slot machine klaxons. They are there to draw attention to that one in a million winner, to skew your perspective of the house odds so you believe winning is a common occurrence. I'm actually shocked this wasn't in CO from lockbox day one.
I wish they'd fix the Auction House UI. The scrollbar on the right side is just obnoxious when flipping through multiple pages of items. You have to scroll up and down to the bottom of each page or you'll miss something... and resizing the UI to fit more items doesn't help. It just makes the scrollbar bigger. And then there are items without categories. There's having to clear the "level" boxes constantly. With just a little help, it could be a pleasant experience.
But Gravity Pulse had priority fix probably because it was kinda breaking open missions.
God thanks i don't have to search for Blue Elite Gear anymore there .. took me always hours to find the best stuff for the best price when i wanted to gear up a new level 40 before On Alert :eek:
I don't know what they were thinking. Get rid of the scrollbar or get rid of multiple pages. One of them has to go.

I haven't played Neverwinter in a few months, but last time I was there, there was no option to turn off those messages.
I don't think so. It seems like they're making their lockboxes more like Neverwinter's, and in Neverwinter, they have the current lockboxes available for Astral Diamonds (the equivalent to our Questionite). Plenty of people buy them since they don't drop with the regularity that ours did. Now that they cut back the drop chances, whenever there's a new box, there's people complaining that they don't drop enough. So there's a precedent for it.
whenever I new box comes out I always see a bunch of people selling them for 5-10g each so I guess there's a market early on in each box's lifetime before people've had time to "stock up"
The change currently on PTS has also broken a major component of the power, grav charge stacks, that has not been discussed as needing any change.
On PTS, the stack of grav charges that occurs over time or from repeated pulsing instead now resets to 0 as soon as you let go of the power, versus its behavior on live, where it remains for 20 seconds at up to 10 stacks after the power is released.
This is a more powerful nerf than adjusting the skill to 5 mobs only, as losing the stacks means the effective damage from the power has been cut more than half even if the mob number had been maintained. It not only gives the higher end bonuses from stacks only at the very end of a long maintain, but actually never reaches the 10 full stacks its supposed to and immediately resets to zero at the end of the charge.
This is not a change that should be allowed to go live. Adding bugs like this serves neither players nor developers.

Here's the thing. Grav pulse was never truly OP. Sure aside from being able to hit massive groups, which are extremely rare and situational, it actually falls behind a decent AoE attack.
The biggest issue that comes to mind is the fact that crit chance hasn't worked on vehicles for how long now..... not to mention it's not the only mod attribute failing to apply.
Vehicles are far more useful in speeding up the leveling process than they are at 40.
The prototypes aren't useful for combat short of someone with no combat ability (ie dedicated h ealer). Once the range was nerf, its biggest strength fell apart. Being able to do decent (not major, just reasonable) damage from a safe distance allowed it to keep up with players utilizing their own powers.
Bottom line is that vehicles are niche and far too limited to be OP. I've got 7 foxbat AFs for topping deathlord spawns, and all but maybe 2 had people running their grav pulse and clearing zombies galore. Sure, part of it is the scoring system, but the core issue is that vehicles don't crit while players do, and the higher base damage of a vehicle can't keep up with decent criticals.
My decked out avalanche hardly sees use, my characters perform better overall short of flying sniper situations (or in this case hovering incendiary/rail gun), and unlike vehicles aren't restricted to only a select number of areas and missions.
Ok, so you're trouncing vehicles vs. The Death Lord...what about the many many many times we hit up The Destroid Invasion and vehicles were usually the top 5 scores?
P.S. Kenpo-Block: Yes, scoreboards do not matter for most of the events and things like this and are mostly for fun...but still, it's kinda worth asking about.
P.S.S. For those from the recent threads I just wanna throw out that I was consistantly top 11(11 seemed to be an odd average number for me but I did get 3rd once and 6th a few times) with an archery toon. Kieko wasn't wrong. Archery can be good. :biggrin:
