Is the Void good?

If yes: can you tell me why and give me tips?

If not: can you recommend me an alternative?

Void < Freeform, because Freeforms RULE!

Sorry I have never used the Void itself, but I have used a Darkness heavy powerset, and it tended to be pretty durable and have decent damage output.

Oh. Well, any tips on playing a Darkness-based freeform?

This quote is from an experienced Void player from the following link explaining the strengths of a Void AT.
Worth noting in those playthroughs, the knock on rift can still instant KO henchmen, excellent for crowd thinning.
Rift and Shadow Embrace knocks provide interrupts that favour the player against multiple enemies.
AOEs stacking still makes it one of the more effective at surviving and clearing crowds
END tree for practically limitless energy.
Passive defense from ebon void stacks while attacking, and CON sec SS makes it forgiving towards player.
Passive healing from shadow form, and lifedrain that both damages and heals.

Here, you will find a video of the same player using the Void in the new Cybermind alert.

Very low damage, and takes a while to get really rolling. The upsides include that it's very defensible, with a lot of holds and regeneration effects under its belt.

Around level 30 is where it begins taking a turn for the better. At 40, with Ebon RUIN, it's a beast.

Isn't Ebon Void available at Level 27?

Anyway, should I change anything to this planned build or it's good?

This AT starts slowly, but after you have Ebon Rift, block enchancer, drain life and, most important, Ebon Ruin, it's better than probably any ranged AT save for the Scourge (and you can even argue which one of those two is better because while the Void has lower DPS, it's much more survivable).

Bonus is - it has Kirby Dots graphical effects on its powers.

21, actually. But block powers are hardly game-changing. I suspect Bluhman meant Ebon Ruin, which is your level 40 power.

I'm pretty sure that Bluhman meant precisely Ebon Void.
This block enchancer is game-changing, that's why it's used on many FF builds.
You don't have to rank it, but with advantage it's basically additional drain life/regen.

Useful even on FF, let alone for AT.

Frankly, this is probably only block enchancer worth spending adv points on it. Only other one is Parry for dodge tanks.

The advantages on Energy Shield in Power Armor can be useful too, particularly Laser Knight.

No, I meant Ebon Ruin, and I forgot the power name. I'm dum

Ebon Void's a great block, though. Part of the reason why the Void AT is so hardy.

VV: I sure which I had an avatar rotator.

    Sorry for the derail, but...

Bluhman, do you have a script that rotates your avatar, or do you just change it manually all the time?

Does the health you steal with Lifedrain still scale with Presence?

I have a freeform Darkness build which doesn't stray too much from The Void, and it's a lot of fun. Void is definitely one of the better archetypes. It's infuriating, though, that they make you choose between two core powers like Lifedrain and Summon Shadows, or that they make you wait 20 extra levels for Ebon Ruin (and don't even let you retcon out of Shadow Blast after you get it). I've also been really underwhelmed by Ebon Rift.

I get some good use out of TK Shield with TK Reinforcement.

Then again, with the potentially faulty pet AI...

yes, damage goes with ego and heals with presence, which means I get the opposite effects on my ranged dps and my healer.

    300 + dmg
    100+heals
    100+ dmg
    300+ heals

Come to think of it, Shadow Blast is the only power on the Void's arsenal that has Crippling Challenge. So, of course you can't retcon it out.

EDIT: Here's my planned build, if anyone's interested. http://co-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=243361
