A Lovecraftian horror as hero. I want him to be a tank but don't know which build is better: Regeneration or Defiance.

I am partial to the Regeneration build with Rage and Defiance being niceties but not necessities. He does not exist as a character yet.

I was imagining using the Heavy Weapon powers to spread around Disorient and then Ego Sprite them up for health and energy.

The Heavy Weapons/Telepathic Reverb synergy is really interesting, and I'm glad to see a build based around it.

Since it sounds like you prefer the Regen version, I'll address that build specifically. You'll want Enrage in that one as well; a toggle form is an important power for any character. Damage-wise (theoretically, using Selphea's DPS Chart for reference), Rank 3 Cleave with Slaughter and Warden Mastery would equal or edge out Rank 3 Skullcrusher with Put Them Down. You'd have to run in-game tests for a non-theorycrafted comparison, though.

Superjump can be tough to use in combat, but some players don't seem to mind its limitations. Also, I'd probably go with STR PSS for the extra Defense/Cost Discount/Critical Severity in its spec tree. Maybe something like this: Regen rebuild

In that version, I'd say that the last 5 powers and their advantages are optional. Challenging Strikes on Arc of Ruin is just because I had a leftover advantage point. Elusive can be swapped for Fortified Gear or Upper Hand, according to preference. Similarly, The Rush of Battle can be replaced with Initiative or Offensive Expertise. The advantage on Ego Sleep is worth considering for the damage debuff, if you feel like shuffling around some advantage points. Since you'll have high CON, advantaged Ego Surge is also worth considering for an Active Offense (within those last 5 "replaceable" powers).

I hope that helps! It's just one way to approach the build. There are plenty of other options, like building around Annihilate.

    Thanks for your input.

I looked at your build but did not see any powers that try to Knock as that is how the description says you build stacks of Enraged.

After some thought, this is my current idea. I had wanted Mind Lock thinking it was an AoE confuse. The wiki was confusing in that it kept referring to more than one enemy instead of emphasizing the single target nature of the ability. So I traded it out for Psychic Vortex to trigger the unlock with all the AoE disorients that will be flying around.

I went with Guardian to get the extra Best Defense and to get the full stack of Fortified Gear that was usurped by Slaughter.

Cleave is a unique power. It has a chance to trigger Enrage every swing, and those chances are doubled against a Disoriented target. Cleave's Enrage procs aren't subject to Enrage's usual internal cooldown, so spamming Cleave is a great way to build and maintain your Enrage stack.

Cleave can stack Enraged. 25% chance on the first two hits, 50% chance on the third. The chance is doubled if your target is Disoriented. It's a natural fit for your build plan considering you plan to abuse Ego Sprites on Disoriented targets as well.

I see. I thought it just added a single stack or refreshed stacks like a lot of the other powers that give Enrage.

    I made some more changes.
