Blood & Fire

The basic idea is to combine the AoE and energy management from Fire with the single-target melee of Bestial Supernatural. The theme is either Sekhmet or her son Mihos. Obviously, this is a retcon build, not a leveling one.

Level 23: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
Level 26: Massacre (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 29: Aspect of the Bestial

Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
Vindicator: Modified Gear (2/2)
Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

I considered a DEX-based version using Form of The Swordsman, but I didn't want to shoehorn in a Dragon attack.

I know that Conflagaration has great numbers, but I hate the way it looks.

I'm seriously considering trading Pyre for Frenzy.

Fire Strike is just there for the utility of having a 100ft single-target ranged attack. It's not part of the core attack chain, and I'm considering swapping it out for Pounce.

Hopefully this is a solo build, in which case, carry on.

If not, then your Invulnerability passive + no Crippling Challenge and Challenging Strikes =

Don't be like the Qularr. They would not last one round in the Interstellar Galactic Arena...

I don't think I've seen a Bestial/Fire build before. I always like unusual thematic combinations.

If Massacre is your main DPS power, you might consider dropping Aspect of the Bestial for Enrage. Aspect would stack faster (no internal cooldown), but you'll need to use Shred more than you might like for frequent energy return. Enrage would stack slower, but could be reliably triggered by more than one power in your build (Massacre, advantaged Pyre, and Pounce if you take it).

I can understand the desire to forego the threat-increasing advantages...but if you do want to tank, Shred (or Devour Essence) and Pyre would be excellent carriers for Crippling Challenge and Challenging Strikes, respectively.

Have you decided on your STR specs and choice of mastery? Your posted build doesn't include those.

Are you using Acrobatics for Pyre hop-bombing?

It's not a tanking build, no. I just don't like to build glass cannons. And no offensive passives really seemed to work for this one. I guess Way of The Warrior would work best, if I went that route, since it's mostly physical damage and bleeds. That wouldn't do anything for the fire damage, though.

    Thanks.

I keep going back and forth on that.

Good to know, thanks. I'll keep that in mind.

Can't believe I forgot to include that. Fixed.

Not necessarily. I generally like to have one movement power well suited for hassle-free outdoor/overland travel, like Flight, and one indoor power (which is usually Acrobatics, but sometimes Teleport).

An alternate take, running in Melee Damage role. Still a little too much of a glass cannon for my tastes, but I feel like I'm getting closer to what I want.

Parry with advantage in place of Fire Shield would give you a bit more survivability if you're mostly melee'ing, (at the cost of a smidge of DPS and three advantage points).
