Shadow Form vs Seraphim

Looking these over, it looks like the only real difference between them (from a solo aspect) is the ability to be in Offensive or Support role.

Am I missing something?

From a team stand point, Seraphim has the AOE heal to help the team, while Shadow Form (I'm guessing) take less aggro.

Both fit a concept I'm working on (and makes me sad that I don't see a Slotted Passive that seems to cover Magic Resist more) so some thoughts on their differences would be appreciated :)

They both use the common ranged dps passive scaling. The only true difference other than aesthetics is the secondary effects of the passive and the role bonuses. The sentinel role has -10% damage and health where the avenger role has +25% damage. Guardian role remains the same for both.

On the aesthetic side, the FX shown when your character attacks is different between the two.

Seraphim gives serious healing bonuses INCLUDING SELF HEALS. It used to get pretty ridiculous (maybe it still does) coz Resurgence for example when used w Seraphim and in the Support role would heal me for more health than I had in the first place. Conviction was like a 50% health heal, this on a Pre/Con build.

So pluses for the Seraphim are: way better self heals, option for support role (reduce aggro and increase energy bar).
Minuses for Seraphim are: no access to ranged damage role, support role gives far less damage bonus and if you try Hybrid role you may (did they fix this tho) get quite a lot of aggro, also there are no particular flashy effects with it.

Shadow form is very much an aggressive passive, you get some threat reduction and more damage bonus from the Ranged role. The self heal is rather minor and won't be enough on it's own to save you, there is slightly more damage resist from Shadow form than Seraphim and it looks cool.

Pluses for Shadow form are: Access to ranged damage role, far less of a bullet magnet than Seraphim, you get a sort of dark aura round you when you fight and your eyes light up, better damage output on the whole.

What is your character do you reckon?
Are you going for a multi role sort of thing e.g. does good damage and can heal others and rez a bit - if so get seraphim.
Do you wanna concentrate on skulking around at the back shooting stuff, maybe a rez now and then but you wanna shoot mainly, do you like the look shadow form can give - if so get Shadow Form
