Heroes, for the next couple weeks, we're going to be taking a step back from new content to work on polish. It's important to us that Champs have as few bugs as possible, and while we won't be able to resolve everything, we're going to do some cleanup.

There will be one or two releases during the anniversary, stuff to keep the lights on and our families fed, but we're going to be focused on polish. We've already announced a ton of events going on during the anniversary, so there's still plenty to do.

The dev team's going to be focusing on some of the top player-reported issues from the forums and from tickets sent in to Customer Support. As such, your job is already done with helping us target the bugs -- no need to post more in here!

    Is it wrong of me to kind of hope the floating billboards don't get fixed? You know, the ones where the message is floating two or three meters away from the billboard itself. I always found it rather charming, as if someone were trying to perfect holographic billboard technology, but hadn't quite ironed out the kinks yet.

    Given the extensive bug list, that better not be one with a target one it.

    I mean, it would be much nicer to finally run Prison Break or Bunker Busted without having to hope "yes, THIS will be the time it's going to complete successfully". :frown:

    I have a sneaking suspicion that the billboards won't be a priority to fix.

    Once we've got fixes in place, absolutely we'll let you guys know and get you to help test us. We know that nothing's truly safe until it's been in the live environment. :/

    That is excellent news. Now, having said that, would you please do me a small favor and say the following:

    "Cryptic North is doing the bug repairs."*

    If it is at all possible I think a grand announcement like "Bug Month" would be made even better if we got some kind of confirmation about the enigmatic Cryptic North and their role in this scenario. Please. :biggrin:

    P.S. This little midgie hasn't has weapon geos in over a year due to the RAD Sphere Weapon Geo Bug wherein if you use a RAD Sphere it makes all weapon geos invisible. Won't you please help the gun totting midgies of the world? Only you can bring a smile to the face of a militant dwarf. :frown:

    *Also feel free to mention Crush, Lordgar, Splosions, and/or anyone else from the old gang who is chipping in so we can appreciate them as well. :biggrin:

    Same with Scarab Fligth. The Cloud Of Reallyreally Smart Bugs wants to show how a bugswarm handles the dual pistols and Gatling run.
    Actually, the flight doesn't show any power effects.
    Poor bugs were confronted all the time in Alerts for being AFK and just hovering there...
    Shees, they had even boss aggro few times. And all the lil' buggers were able to answer was 'Bzzz Bzz Bzzzz'....

    Well, there you have it: Cryptic North is now working on CO. Looks like they weren't at all brought in to create new content - but to help with a major bug pass and 'polish' (much like was reported by many gaming sites.)

    I do think bug focus is good (and always needed); but when you combine this with this one from Trailturtle:

    (A player asked a question about the possibility of CO getting the Foundry (Answered in 1)); then about the possibility of ever getting new zones (Answered in 2)); and then about Bug Fixes (answered in 3)))

    Thus, sorry tom say that - aside from this 'bug pass' - we won't probably won't be seeing much new content; or a real addition to the CO game world; which is honestly very disappointing.

    I'd say true 'maintenance mode' status for CO is maybe about a year away (IE they want to get enough Alerts to be able to do a decent rotation.)

    I take no joy in posting the above, as I do really like the game, still think it has potential if they'd give it some real Dev resources; but (IMO) - the writing's on the wall; and no amount of wishing this wasn't the case will change that -- only a change in attitude towards CO from Cryptic/PWE upper management.

    Well, squashing bugs is at least a good start. Who knows, maybe when they run out of those maybe they'll actually have some desire to do some decent content drops like Foundry or Lair Review.

    Based on past experience, I'm skeptical that very much of anything produced by this endeavor will actually work in our favor.

    Also, what new content? Maybe you should have more to show than two new missions and a couple of alerts before you announce that you're putting new development on hiatus. You can't put something on the back burner that you're not actually doing.

    This is really good news. This game has a growing reputation as being filled with bugs that never get fixed. If you spend twenty minutes in Zone Chat, you'll see at least one newcomer ask about a feature only to be told "Oh, that's been broken for a while" (this happened last night with someone creating their nemesis for the first time and asking why he couldn't see the minion images). It's much better to plug the holes in a ship before trying to build a casino on top of it. If you guys can action the bug fixes we've long been asking for, I'll be happy.

    Nope. While I understand that's a conclusion that could be drawn, Cryptic North was brought on to work on all aspects of Champs. Right now, it makes the most sense to spend some time working on cleaning house. Before too long (I don't want to call it a month, but it's a limited period along those lines), it'll shift back to making new content.

    The willingness to make or not build the Foundry has nothing to do with Cryptic North, and everything to do with numbers and data that exist independently of the people working on Champs.

    Not sure what the order will be, but I don't think they'll be impacting completion of each other. The passive is something GentlemanCrush would work on.

    TT, if you're going for polish please fix the following issues which I promise will not need any prior testing:

    Spelling and grammar mistakes
    Outdated info (ego buffing severity)

    This game is an absolute embarassment in these areas. Just a few hours spent can clean them all up.

    Costume bugs and missing glows and textures would be nice. Just make a thread and let us -- your player base ID all the bugs for you! We'd be so happy to help.

    I couldn't find Red Green's bug-zapper plans on YouTube, but he has had some other ideas...

    The Socrates event was amazingly implemented, save for no costume set to purchase in the store to go along with it aside from the lockboxes.

    So if Cryptic North is confident enough to spend some of the free time between that and the event that comes after Destroid Invasion to fix bugs, I'm all for it! Looking forward to seeing how these make the game get back in line to playing as it should.

    Yeah, I gotta admit that I'm looking forward to the bug fixes far more than I looked forward to any of this year's events.

    Those Perk Reward Power Replace Items where all removed without no any announcement. Hero Game Reward Power Replace Items also.

    I know you had to drop all old systems based gears & also Crafted items at once from contents to apply new Mods system but the reward COSTUME UNLOCK remove where not intent even for Devs too.

    I defeated 5000 Pirate Ghosts and got "Buccaneer" perk, two days after the first Alert patch applied and I was so shocked for not getting [Harquebus], I reported to devs as Bugs and the answer I got from support was "Working for it".

    I'm waiting for fix over a year but still nothing have been changed...

    Let me help for listing up This is the list of the things removed without any announcement.

    Please let me try to report this as bug again.

    When they said bug fixes, I don't think they meant anything to do with PvP. I have heard they are fixing the Club Caprice bug, so many RP'er's have already died from the flu, it's not good. :<

    Apparently there was once a dev called Lucid who would do stuff for PvP, but he disappeared, still to this day the name lucid(ity) is called out in PvP calling out... WHY?

    True story.

    But really, make sure you target the right bugs. There are many bugs that I'm sure you are not aware of too be honest. :/

    Every other were product's right specification, I thought so. xD
    RP'er's dieing is no good. But when I went Club Caprice, I felt myself some kind of sickness like flu. OMG.

    Hinky, to my knowledge(correct me if I'm wrong) that Lucid thing never really panned out in a positive or negative way. He would show up every few months, make a thread, ask what needed to be fixed, vanish, and it would turn to dust.

    I agree with you in that I do not think this is for PvP but more of a PvE thing. After all, CO PvP was intentionally murdered as a result of On Alert for a reason, sadly.

    The problem is with PvE is that you could go in with no gear at all and win the game easily just by taking conviction, MSA, TGM and AOPM with STR, CON, INT. PvE is in an even worse state that PvP which is pretty funny if you ask me. :/

    If they really want pve to work they will need something utterly impossible for anyone to complete. They'd need to make it so the boss interrupts people and stuns some people, so you can't solo it. They also need to make the boss have one hit kill mechanic's and other things that would mean team work is a must. This latest cybermind thing didn't actually need any teamwork, it had one hit kill mechanic's and that but there was no reason to have a team in there with you other than to do it faster.

    They need to work out a way to make it so you need a pure tank and a pure healer in your team, something like damage resistance debuff's would work well as that would cause DPS to go into minus resistance.

    Also why not make it so some of the content actually stays in the game instead of putting on some stupid rotation?

    If you want people to stay in the game you need to have something that is constantly too hard to do although still possible if you have the correct team.

    Of course this is not about new content but bugs that need fixing which certainly needs to happen. I just hope the next content after this wont just be more easy rotated alert's for level 14's to find hard.

    I dunno, Hinky - I like feeling superhuman, you know? I get plenty of challenges I can't complete in real life. And forcing teaming was one of the things that turned me off of WoW (hardly the only thing, but it was, to quote a brilliant song, another brick in the wall).

    Say trailturtle not sure if you will replay to this but is there a list of bugs that are going to be fixed?. So we kown or is that bad to give that out so players might exploit them?

    Also my qeastion will the Nemesis bug be fixed? The one where the minions not showing up when creating a nemesis?. As well where in the jail mission where the nemesis won't walk out. As well I'm pushing my luck here a bit but once you go back to new content how are them new rooms for the hideouts coming along?.

    Please I got to kown :(



    Also has anyone noticed that there is no Plasma TV or a real bathrooms in the pethhosues :D?
