  Hmm not the best build expert - but maybe Cyrones Kr'anri build is a good place to start. I ran a version of this not too long ago and the control was pretty good.

  As you are well aware, I have left extensive advice on how to build a controller toon to spadra27 recently who is mixing darkness and Telepathy.

  I will say it may be a bit too psychic based for your theme but it is simple enough to rectify to be more sorcerous.

  Hmm... TK Maelstrom, Mental Storm and Hex of Suffering w/ root adv for CC stuffs. Fill in the rest as desired. If you really wanted to go crazy with CC, add in Avalanche as your main attack while the others are on cooldown for the AoE knockdown+dmg.

  Sounds counter productive to a CC build. Breaking your hold to apply another which would be relatively short lived in comparison = 2 stacks of CC resist to target.
  
  Debuffing wise it would be a nice way to go however.
  
  I know Cyrone's Pestilence build with CC was a hilarious hit with Kevin Poe...

  Ah, now that makes sense. I thought you were AoE sleeping then spamming shadow blast on each one or something horrific like that.
