V.I.G.O.R. (Vital Impulse Gear and Organic Remedies) Solutions is planned to be a vast, engaging and active roleplaying SG, with encouragement on faction based PvP or PvP-RP based on the political relations happening within. The roleplaying introduction is as follows, and OOC information will be available in the next post. The third post is where news and announcements can be found.
The elderly man smiles as he adjusts his lab coat collar, glancing briefly down at the notes scrawled quickly on the piece of paper sitting on the podium before him before facing the crowd of media. "V.I.G.O.R., or Vital Impulse Gear and Organic Remedies, Solutions is the leading supplier of limb replacement bionics, and medicinal products." He pauses for a moment to gauge the faces of the reporters before clearing his throat and continuing.
"Since this company's founding, our dedicated team of highly qualified research and development professionals have been actively seeking better ways to make life happier, longer, and safer. No longer will you have to worry about being unable to properly control or gauge your cybernetic replacements strength, thanks to V.I.G.O.R. Solutions. No longer will you have to worry about water related accidents, thanks to V.I.G.O.R. Solutions. No longer will you have to worry about recharging, thanks to V.I.G.O.R. Solutions. These are just a few of the many present issues and flaws that other companies market with their bionics--flaws that we, at V.I.G.O.R. Solutions have eradicated."
He reaches up and removes his eyeglasses, cleaning them on his shirt for a moment while he lets his speech muddle in the minds of his listeners.
"Soon, we will be releasing our next level of pharmaceuticals and medical alternatives. I can't say much--but we are close to unlocking the ability to artificially grow limbs, custom tailored to an individuals DNA, to serve as a replacement to an already missing limb--or even as a health insurance policy in advance to those with dangerous careers!" He grins at the crowd, flashing his teeth as a round of applause resounds through the air. He chuckles before asking, "Now, are there any questions?" He points at one of the reporters that waves her hand vigorously through the air in the front row. She motions at her cameraman before turning back to the speaker, her mic held to her lips.
"Yes, Dr. Darwin, there have been several concerns to the public that V.I.G.O.R. practices human experimentation. What do you have to say to these claims?" There's a hushed murmur through the crowd as Dr. Darwin raises a hand before chuckling. He pulls his glasses down to the tip of his nose, feigning wiping a tear out of his eye with one finger.
"Naturally such concerns are ever present in any sort of medical breakthrough. But I can assure you that such claims have no fact, no basis, and are just plain laughable. After all, V.I.G.O.R.'s number one concern has always been our fellow mankind, and protecting that which is dearest to all of us--the lives of our loved ones. For instance, this little girl..." He holds up a large photo of a young girl kneeling next to a dog, an arm and a leg all on one side of her body replaced with cybernetics, the arm petting the dog. "This poor little girl was hit by a drunk driver, it was a tragedy. But thanks to V.I.G.O.R. Solutions, she can walk again unaided, she can use her arm as if it were own natural flesh and blood." A large, raucous round of applause sounds as the reporter, flustered, tries to be heard over the crowd.
"B...but, Dr. Darwin, you're avoiding the quest--" She's cut off as he clears his throat loudly.
"That's enough questions for now. Remember Millennium City, V.I.G.O.R. Solutions will always be there to protect and cure your loved ones." He smiles, waves, and steps off the podium.
Dr. Darwin rubs his balding forehead, his eyes squinted, as he walks down the hall next to one of the facilities many supervisors.
"Ugh, I hate PR days. Those imbeciles give me headaches." The supervisor chuckles.
"Well, this might cheer you up. Project G.R.U.N.T. has had an astounding breakthrough today." Dr. Darwin opened his eyes, excitement crossing his features. Project G.R.U.N.T., or Genetically Re-engineered Utopian Neo Troop, was an attempt to breed super-soldiers with inhuman abilities by splicing together genes of multiple animals with a humans.
The supervisor leads Dr. Darwin to the specific lab where the projects prototype was stored. The doors slides open as they enter, a few technicians greeting Dr. Darwin as he eagerly enters. The supervisor beams as he stares at the giant glass case housing the first G.R.U.N.T.
"This one is a prototype, extremely early, and with many distinct flaws. But she is the first one that is fully sentient, not only extremely hardy, strong, and limber, but also intelligent far beyond our initial expectations. However, this is not without it's issues." Dr. Darwin studies the glass housing, the creature inside. A lithe, white furred anthropomorphic wolf creature floats suspended within the liquid, her belly and tail the only areas without any fur-instead covered in a strange, rubbery like skin. Two large horns jut from her head, and a large fin runs down her back and tail. Her left arm was replaced completely with cybernetics, and large metal braces were attached to her legs.
The supervisor clears his throat to get Dr. Darwin's attention.
"As you can see, during the gestation period, her left arm completely failed to grow in. However, one of the lab techs had the in-genius idea to stick some bionics where her arm should of been, and her body naturally adapted to it, with the nerve endings automatically connecting. We figure this can be used for future projects to include G.R.U.N.T.S. with extra limbs. Her legs never seemed to mature properly--the bone structure is extremely weak, so we had to supplement with cybernetic braces. Also... her mind... while powerful, advanced, and intelligent... didn't quite mature. From our calculations, it seems that she will never have an adult humans mental processing. Basically, she'll mentally remain a child her entire life. Something didn't quite go right when we were locking out brain processes in an attempt to assert loyalty and submission." Dr. Darwin nods, his hand on his chin.
"Still, this is more of an advancement then I had ever hoped this early. The higher ups will be extremely pleased with this, they're already beginning to assert V.I.G.O.R. as a superpower, and we have a strong political position. Soon, we'll even have an army." The supervisor nods.
"We had a second one in development as well, only we tried some DNA from early pterodactyls instead of basilisks. Her body came out in a superior physical condition, however her right arm failed to mature. Also, her mind was quite an enigma to us. Something about her mental processes vexed us...we think it may be the pterodactyl DNA, since there are, of course, no possible methods to examine a dinosaur's brain, but considering how small their skulls it, they can't possibly be very advanced. Either way, this one will be completely rogue, and probably quite feral. We're discussing a viable destruction process without leaving any evidence."
Dr. Darwin nods.
"Good, good. I doubt it'll be of much concern. I'll report this to the higher ups, it won't be long until V.I.G.O.R. can assert itself as a world wide superpower and political leader. Those who refuse to follow us, will be introduced to the G.R.U.N.T.s."

Those that wish to join may do so, as a casual roleplayer, or as one of the many available roles. For the company side, there are various lab technicians, scientists, soldiers/guards/enforcers, and loyal G.R.U.N.T. positions available. For those that do not want to be part of the company, there are positions available as resistance soldiers, escaped G.R.U.N.T.s, UNITY/UNTIL members, and etc.
Da Rulez:
1. Perfect World Entertainment and Cryptic's Terms of Service for Champion's Online will be followed. Illegal/rule-breaking conduct by the supergroup's members will be met with little tolerance. When it comes to language/content, You must 1. Keep it PG in the actual SG chat, (there will be channels for the Resistance, and for VIGOR), swearing is allowed as long as you aren't offensive with it. 2. Sexual, extremely violent, or otherwise explicit content will be kept to their individual and private roleplaying scenarios, and will NOT be in the SG chat, or individual group channels.
2. Respect. You will respect every member of the SG, whether you like them or not, whether they are or aren't in the same faction as you, OOC'ly. You will not insult, terrorize, harass, or otherwise disrespect your fellow SG members in any way OOC'ly. There will be zero tolerance for this--you will be asked to leave if you can't follow this rule.

Just thought I'd put up a blurb about the upcoming "Zero Day" event. It's basically the event that will set up the story. Members who participate in it will have the opportunity to become leaders/high ranking members of their respective factions, and the resistance will be founded by the players.
The events that are going to happen during "Zero Day" are:
V.I.G.O.R.'s operation get leaked publicly, most likely due to defector(s).
Defectors and/or superheroes form a group to attempt to put V.I.G.O.R.'s inner circle down.
In retaliation, V.I.G.O.R. commences their plans early, and activates project G.R.U.N.T., GRUNTs either remain loyal or defect to the resistance.
Anything else that happens is up to the participants! This event is to set up and begin the RP for the SG, and to get everyone's character established. So until we have a decent playerbase, it's going to keep getting pushed back. So I don't have a date for it yet, but I'd like to have it scheduled sometime by the end of the week. When there are enough applied and ready players available, an SG wide in game message will be sent to all members announcing the date a few days ahead of time.

Answer: I am a 29 year rp vet. Everything from table top to live action to mmo's. I am new to CO however and am still learning the system on a f2p acct. I am interested in the faction based PvP concept and want to learn more.

Answer: I would like to be a part of V.I.G.O.R., at first at least, as either hired muscle or a mysterious backer or part of the G.R.U.N.T. division.

Answer: My favorite rule. Basically, treat others as you would want to be treated. This is a game first and formost and we are here to have fun.

Answer: Ungorroth the Destroyer; a lesser demon with visions of glory and a desire to move up through the ranks. Brute strength will not be enough, he will have to prove his cunning as well. Now, if only there was an entity ripe for corruption...

Answer: I would say I'm an experienced roleplayer

Answer: VIPER is highly interested in V.I.G.O.R., in the short term they would see as a potentially profitable business partner, but in the long run V.I.G.O.R. would have to be dealt with as there can only be a single new world order. As a meta-human agent of VIPER I would be working as an ally.

Answer: Respect the Law of the land and respect those who live there

Answer: A loyal VIPER super-soldier with decades of experience fighting nearly all kinds of enemies

Answer: I'm a somewhat experienced roleplayer! Going on 5 or 6 years now. Not nearly as long as some people, but enough to get how things go.

Answer: Ben would likely come to be part of the rebellion as a consequence of his general hatred for authority and especially the abuse of it. As soon as information - even speculative information - leaked about VIGOR's status as a corporation that abused it's position, as well as various creatures, he would stand firm in the opposition.

Answer: In essence, it's sortof the golden rule - treat others as you would wish to be treated.

Answer: I ended up reading through it - I feel like it's a fine length and a fairly good expository read, but the spacing makes it a little bit hard to read. Maybe add more line breaks?

Answer: Ben Teach - a (literally) fiery biker with an anti-authoritarian streak. A strong believer in the individual over the organization, and a hatred for abuse of power, as well as a love for the mechanical, Ben would naturally be interested in the cybernetic enhancements - and thus likely even angrier at the abuse of various creatures and an attempt to form a political superpower.

Ideally, my character would work well as a fence sitter; a double agent whom no one really knows whose side he is on. If I must pick a side, however, he would be part of V.I.G.O.R. Specifically, he would work as an intelligence officer, making sure the company's secrets stay safe and interrogating those who cross VIGOR. If not that, then a scientist in the psionics division.

The aim, in any RP setting, is to create a good story where everyone feels accepted. A lack of respect and tolerance hinders this pursuit, and therefore a sense of civility and politeness must be upheld.

Since the resistance factors so heavily in this story, I believe they should be mentioned or discussed in greater detail in the opening.

Enigmatic, and hard to get talking, Half-Baked is for all sakes and purposes, a zombie. He prefers the term 'psionic undead', but according to what little he reveals about himself, he was the result of an experiment that tried to resurrect people's minds inside cybernetically and chemically powered corpses. The result was a half-baked attempt at resurrection, half-completed, and half-dead.

Answer: I wish to be part of the opposition. Silverheart was a scientist working at V.I.G.O.R., but he didn't agree with their methods. It was this that lead to him deciding to aid the opposition in exposing the truth.

Answer: Respect all members of the SG. It means don't do anything to intentionally upset or harass members of the SG OOC. Treat everyone with respect regardless of whether you get along.

Answer: I found the story incredibly interesting and well thought out, aside from a slight grammatical error ((humans should have been "human's")) there are no criticisms I would make.

Answer: Silverheart has a tendency to wait and listen rather than be at the forefront of the conversation, and often waits to hear all of the information available on a subject before commenting on it. He is reasonably skilled with computers and most machines, partly thanks to the unique nanomachines in his body ((Long story)), and often spends his spare time working on his projects. He hates VIPER, and is quite touchy on the subject. He usually wears a black trench coat with a grey undershirt.

Pretty detailed, but since you could take these interactions of this S.G. and turn it into a novel... Yeah. The more detailed the better.

Answer:
Local famous prodigy from Millenium City, struck by Foxbats jealousy of other peoples limelight, as Brown Recluses father was murdered by him.
Dr. Lajon Racossa of Millenium City attended Harvard University and graduated with a doctorate in Engineering. With an emphasis in Thermo-Nuclear devices.
He also was the President of the Fencing Club.

Answer: No, not really, it was great as it is.

Answer: An Elysian("Inter-dimensional Spartans") equal to a nuclear deterrent, Cataclysm was used in corruption by the warlords. Being taken down, rebooted, and sent away by the hero Elpis(Hope), Cataclysm has landed on Earth and now serves his rightful purpose; To defend the innocent from oppression.

Answer: I like to think I am experienced RP'er. Been RPing for 6 years now in SWG, WoW, SWTOR.

Answer: I was thinking about V.I.G.OR. as security/soldier. Maybe even result of previous experiments with cybernetics from V.I.G.O.R?

Answer: Basically, you don't have to love your guild-mates (I will use that word) but you do have to respect them or you are out mother*****!

Answer: Spectre is female mercenary. She has several cybernetic implants, among others one that gives her ability to teleport to short distances. She is quite skilled with cold weapons and firearms as well.

Answer: There are two...O.H.M. (Oscillating Harmonic Matrix) and A.M.P. (Assault Matrix Program). Initially they were AI Constructs created by SOCRATES specifically in response to the threat to her network. They have since be given robotic bodies and now act on behalf of SOCRATES and U.N.T.I.L.

Answer: I have had some experience with role playing in the past with games like Dungeons & Dragons to Alternity as well as Star Trek Online. It has been years since I played however. But I'd like to try it again given the right circumstances.

Answer: As an ally, perhaps as part of a joint Task Force. I only plan on playing those two characters mentioned above as they complement one another sort of speak. While O.H.M. is the personification of (Super-Ego), A.M.P. is (Id). Where O.H.M. is an extrovert, A.M.P. is introverted. Their current "Directive" is Task Force support and combat at both the Canadian and Desert facilities. They "work" for U.N.T.I.L. (The United Nations Tribunal on International Law), The Clockwork Division. Any new directives must come from the chief liaison.

Answer: With "Common Sense" in mind, all things (people too) being equal, treat others as you would want to be treated.

Answer: Not at all. I have played many MMO's and if there's one thing that will either get me hooked or turn me away is how the story is written. I looked at a few RPSG's and found yours quite interesting.

Answer: Okay. This Application is for O.H.M. O.H.M. is an AI construct created by Millennium City's AI SOCRATES in response to the network threat that would later come to be known under the mission "Fatal Error". Initially O.H.M. was just an AI that was tasked to run through the system, aiding heroes in cyberspace to find and repair SOCRATES' mainframe. Later it was decided that O.H.M. could also aid heroes while performing other duties in the real world. A robotic body was created, using the image of one of the programers daughters as a base and she was tasked to render assistance where needed as a support AI.

A.M.P. is an AI construct created by Millennium City's AI SOCRATES in response to the network threat that would later come to be known under the mission "Fatal Error". Initially A.M.P. was just an AI that was tasked to run through the system, defending heroes in cyberspace seeking to destroy any "viruses" within SOCRATES' mainframe. Later it was decided that A.M.P. could also help heroes while performing other duties in the real world. The robotic body that was created for O.H.M. was also used for A.M.P. and she was tasked to defend Millennium City and the surrounding areas as a tactical AI.
