Night Widow Homage Build

One of my favorite charachters from my old COH/COV days was my Night Widow. I liked the mix of Psychic Attacks and Poison Claws. I tried to cobble together a quick build to respec into on CO. Just from looks alone the "Energy Claws" actually look great and can pass for "Psychic Claws". (Another similar concetp would be Wild Thing from the X-men universe)

Here is as far as I got... so any feedback would be great. I'm really sold on claws and psionics.. so I don't want to venture too far from that concept. But if people have any advice, I would be glad to hear it! As far as secondary's I wanted to get as much dodge, Avoidance, and HOT as I could fit in. This simulates super agility and healing.

I wouldn't take The Best Defense twice. They do stack, but because of Diminishing Returns, the second one doesn't help as much as you might think.

If trying to simulate a Widow, I'd definitely look at team buffs and enemy debuffs - that's what the Soldiers of Arachnos were all about to me.

Maybe to get a poison effect in you should take Toxic Nanites?

MSA scales with INT if i recall, so you may want to SS int. For Melee I like Dex/ Con/ Int. Use Form of the Tempest and MSA, then you can mix Claws and Telepathy stuff. I like the concept.

Wow thjanks.. for all the feedback. It makes a lot of sense. I'm going to redo and repost when I have some time. But I'm thinking of adding IDF or AoPM to simulate the team buff aspect and adding in the Dex/Con/Int as well.

    Lots to think about.

Personally, I love to combine the Vindicator and Warden specialization trees for that sweet Aggressive Stance / Best Defense synergy.

If you want "psi" and "claws," then look at the Ego Blade powers in the Telekinesis set. That could kill two birds with one stone.

DEX / INT / CON is a great super-stat combo, probably the best one I've seen for characters like that. MSA scales off of INT (which is already saving you energy by reducing the cost of your powers), and spamming the lunge and/or Evasive Maneuvers (which is a great defense boost as well as a potential aggro-dump) fuels MSA.

Of the Martial Arts lunge powers available, Smoke Bomb Lunge is by far the best one, better than Thunderbolt Leap. Void Shift would also be fun for a character like this, especially with the advantage that Fears everyone around your target.

You might prefer Quarry to Lightning Reflexes as your slotted passive. It's a great offensive-with-some-defense passive for characters like this.

I would take Form of The Tempest as your toggle form buff. With Super-DEX, you'll score crits constantly, so you'll have no trouble building Focus stacks.

Since you already want to go in a psi direction, I'd take Ego Surge with the +Nimble Mind advantage as your active offense. It boosts all your damage, but the advantage also gives you a massive crit chance buff, which will scale off of your Super-CON.

If you stay with Fighting Claws, and you want to keep the +Spitting Cobra advantage on Viper's Fangs, then consider taking Devour Essence as both an attack and as your self-heal power. The +Phlebotomist advantage buffs its self-heal to 150% if the target is either Bleeding or Poisoned. But even if they aren't, Devour Essence is an insanely good power, and you could justify it as a sort of "psychic drain."

Being familiar with Night Widows and their counterparts, the Fortunata, I came up with a pretty decent collection of powers for an homage to them.

I split the attacks 50/50 between claws and psionic. I used Ego Reverberation for the energy unlock, and Form of the Master for the Focus building form (which also recharges your heal faster when you dodge)

It's not a fully formed build, just something to give you some ideas how you want to build your Night Widow homage.
