Good Munitions Build?

dannydizzdannydizz Posts: 3 Arc User
Hello all!

I've played CO for quite a while, although I just got back from a long break. I am looking for a good Munitions build (the assault rifle, sniper rifle, grenades, etc.) that could work for both PVE and PVP. I've never been good at making PVP builds and want to start getting into that aspect of the game. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated! (Btw, I'm using a freeform. :) )

I'm attempting to make this guy essentially have what a soldier in the Army would have. (With maybe a few high-tech CO-type things.)

Two Gun Mojo. Forget your rifles, rocketlaunchers and rest of the peashooters.

Browsing the Combat and Powers section and the Hero Games sections will help you find some info. Quarry is personally my favorite passive for munitions and the Concentration form. Get Intelligence and Ego and then whatever stat you want to support you.

Okay. So Quarry is the best for ranged technology powers? (Assault rifle, sniper rifle, etc.?)

Targeting Computer is the BEST damage related passive for munitions, but you are super squishy. Quarry is just a preference for the stat, dodge AND offense boost.

According to the wiki, Targeting Computer and Quarry both give the same 14% damage buff, scaling with superstats. The only difference is that Quarry boosts physical damage (everything in munitions except a couple bombs) and TC boosts ranged technology (everything except Mini Mines and half of Bullet Beatdown).

TC's only damage advantage over Quarry is the bonus crit chance and severity. Snd the fact that you can just rank it to 3, rather than having to decide between R3 and R2+Advantage.

I'm not sure if the Dodge/Avoid of Quarry or the Resist All of TC is stronger, but the heal from Fair Game is a huge survivability boost.

Personally, I still prefer Quarry. A character with a slightly smaller buff does more damage than a dead one with a bigger buff.

Edit: I forgot about the +Int and +Ego, which reduces the offense gap between them even more.

yeah, I think targeting computer needs something more, perhaps a shorter lock on time?

Or a better buff for lock on.

OK, I don't remember how to lay this out, but it's the build I use.

    Primary Stat: Ego.

    Secondaries: Int and Dex.

I won't go into picking specializations- but anything that gives a bonus to Offense or Defense- take it. You should use the Guardian and Vindicator Spec trees. Especially 'the best defense' in Guardian.

Get an energy builder, doesn't matter- you shouldn't need it.

2-Gun Mojo. Rank this up LAST. If you want PvP- take the Crippling Challenge and Nailed to the Ground. If not, just go to Rank 3.

Concentration. Don't rank it up, it doesn't do anything.

    Smoke Grenade, Escape Artist.

    Killer Instinct

    Lead Tempest, Tread Softly

    Masterful Dodge

    Bountiful Chi Resurgence, Resurgent Riki

    Quarry, Rank 3

Roughly- this is all you need to worry about. You can cherry pick and play and get a few 'fun' powers to go with this, but this is the main part of the build. It's flexible.
