unable to authenticate

Anyone else getting the unable to authenticate message upon log in?

    Yep...just started happening to me too. Logged out and can't get back in.

    I was switching characters and cannot get back in now...

    Damnit, I actually had a good team for farming the Forum Malvanum too!

    Consolidate the currencies! (Please!)
    Does your Champion have a theme song? (share it!)
    Got a funny in-game screenshot? (share it!)
    Please fix the Overdrive energy unlock! (Should help promote thematic build diversity!)

    Got booted and now can't connect to account server. My Internet connection works fine for everything else.

    Same here. Unable to authenticate.

    But it's more than just Champions. Can't log into any Cryptic games right now.

    I'm having the same problem.
    Can't get into Star Trek Online or Neverwinter either.

    Does the server crash when you try to highlight an item from a different game on the chat?

    Yep. Just started for me. Logged out of Champions to switch characters and I'm now unable to log back in through the game. (I'm getting "Account server timeout" if trying to log back in through the game, "Unable to authenticate" if logging in through the launcher.)

    In addition, whatever is affecting our login to the servers also seems to be affecting the subscription information displayed on the "My Account" page in the web interface. At present, the "My Account" page for CO shows that I have been subscribed for 0 days and have an "inactive" account.

    So.... what does this make? The 10th time the game just goes down unexpectedly?

    It's been happening since NWO, this is no longer a coincidence.

    Damnit Cryptic what's going on with your servers? I was patient the first few times this happened with Neverwinter's launch, but now it's just clearly a labor issue (either somebody not doing their job, or nobody being paid to fix it properly) and/or a capital issue (no backup, overloaded bandwidth, lightning strike, who knows...)

    Professionals are expected to be held to a higher standard, I know I am at the place I work at (expected to behave as a professional, not an amateur). Hell I hardly have time to get on I'm working so much lately, it'd be nice to have it f***ing working when I actually can get time to play!

    Did the gerbil keeping the servers running disappear again?

    Again I think it is time to invest in some new hardware, and separate the three games so when one goes down all three aren't affected. (Especially if the rumors of a forth game being developed are true)

    Unfortunately they can't, because the account server is being shared by all three games.

    The upside to the system is that if your friends are playing on a different game server than you, you'll still be able to chat with them via tells or player channels. Account management is also easier if you play more than one game.

    They just need to upgrade their server hardware if they haven't already.

    Anyway, good to know that it turned out to be a quick hiccup.

    Been having the same problem all day (am glad I'm not the only one). But usually a reboot solves it for me.

    id put money on the knifexploit being the cause, not alot of money, but if fast jets can break it why not spamming knives

    yes , I got it too. Just in time for the weekend. And I have 2 alts at 35 ready to get to 40....
