Premade PvP

OK. While my character is on the chopping block of PTS I've been finding myself increasingly interested in PvP.

Members of my SG DE:LTA have been teaming up and entering the Hero Games (in Character PvP) and having alot of fun.. However, we seek opponents of like mind and skill.

We do not use overpowered devices in PvP. We don't use FoTM builds. We are well geared for PvE and generally don't gear specifically for PvP.

SO if you have a team of at least 5 that would like to PvP with us we welcome the healthy and douche free competition of Hero Games. We will likely ONLY be queueing with other teams of 5 to avoid the elite PvP crowd.

Also if you want to play "Mega Metagame PvP" feel free to seek opponents in this thread too.. But don't be surprised if there are not many people who don't sign on the bottom line.

    Oh this sounds great :O I gotta get subscription now ;)

    For ages I was trying to fight to get 5v5's and stuff going but it was hard. I'll be back on soon, and with the new Cryptic North I hope that they invest some of their time to balance PvP slightly.

    When I get on, I'll find 4 of my friends to join me for a 5v5 maybe. I'll try not to bring along Green machine or anyone like that because he would probably beat all 5 of you but I'll find a team who'll make the match interesting and fun. It's a game, that's what it's all about. ;)

    I'll try to get my friends together for this as well. I'll need to get to cherry picking because half of them use devices up the wazoo.

    Would it still be okay to "play to win?" For example, I don't use devices and I avoid FotM builds at all costs. I just try my hardest when playing. :biggrin:

    Nothing is wrong with finding an OP combination for a build and neither is anything really wrong with devices although it does make things more complicated and much more pay to win. In saying that though gear is just as pay to win due to the dodge and avoidance you can get from gear alone plus all that other stuff.

    There's no such thing as play to win, you have to be smart to win and counter your opponent in some way. ;)

    But the worst thing is these people who use blatant exploits. COUGH green saber COUGH jewel (sorry but I know you use the ego surge / ascension one) COUGH a bunch of people I CBA to name. Some guy said to me in game earlier that the fact he was using the throwing blades exploit balanced the gameplay against my 3 devices... ERM DERP...

    I don't know how good I'll be without devices though too be honest. ;)

    I see nothing wrong with finding "OP combinations" in builds as well. I don't like devices, but I won't outwardly complain about them - it's the player's choice to use them or not. I'm just stating this stuff to show that I'd like to comply to the OP's "rules."

    And my definition of playing to win is playing smart and using counters against one's opponent. I'm just trying to say that I would not be pulling any punches with my slightly handicapped build.

    lol I know of the exploit but I wont use it because I believe in a thing called the morale high ground. ;D

    Yep. Like a friend said of this topic...Devices are for beeches who can't hang otherwise!

    I have to agree. Although, in pve who cares. Use whatever you want.
    But in competition against other players, it's a punk move to fight someone else that doesn't use devices. (IMHO) And no, not everyone wants devices. It's not about the money.
    At least not for me. In fact I sell those very same devices to others for big profit.

    So, no not errybody uses exploits. But a lot of you folks do.

    I actually played quite a few of the hero games while DE:LTA was running them and it was indeed fun ^_^. I would certainly like to join in the festivities.

    Also, just wanted to point out that it is the "overpowered devices" that are frowned upon not all devices. We all probably know which devices (or combos of devices) these are, but it might be helpful to specify them just to make sure.:redface:

    Everyone really loved gaming with you! At our core we're all just really cool Archetypes (concepts).. if we could do AT PvP we totally would.

    I know that we can't tell people what to and not to do in any PvP scenario.. but when we see people start using them we just wont queue with that particular person/group anymore.

    Did this ever go anywhere? If not, I'd like to try to revive the idea of SG-based premade PvP with theme builds. If there is interest, we should schedule and post a time.

    Deal with it.

    Champions PvP is now just like GUNZ.

    2GM, cash shop devices(that step through 2 currencies to hide the fact that they are) people jumping with acro like crackmonkeys.

    Time to accept it, Cryptic, and give us a 2GM in cash shop device form.
