Water "Tunneling" - Travel Power

A Water-themed travel power that'd be similar maybe near identical to Ooze Tunneling - becoming a liquid puddle moving and splashing around - the changes really being mostly FX/ cosmetic rather than anything else (since 2 out of 3 versions of Ooze Tunneling are not colorable, and even Metallic Ooze looks sort of a matte, blocky toxic gooey substance in different colors) so this would have a more transparent feel to it, true to water in CO, and different coloring would allow for different sort of concepts/liquid forms and whatnot. Functionally, identical to Ooze Tunneling: invulnerability while using this Travel Power, temp resistances after. The way it moved would be also very similar to tunneling, with really minor adjustments for that perfect water-y feel & look. Couple other suggestions to go along:

- When resuming to corporeal form, have that "wet" effect applied, dripping and all.

- Appropriate sound effects to go with it (splash!?)

- Another interesting FX would be a (brief) transparent/semi-transparent watery look during- right after the transformation: so this would really be the hero becoming water/liquid before "melting" and after resuming corporeal form (the latter going along with Ooze Tunneling's resistances, would make sense).

We do know a Water power set (as much as I'd LOVE one, heh) is not planned and told the difficulties of implementing it. I think this travel power would be a nice compromise in that regard and also really add to the game (certainly more than 3 almost identical Ooze forms). I know I would play good money for it, I have a toon just waiting in the wings and this would be the absolute deal-maker. This could compliment water-themed characters using Force builds (and other powers) to simulate water powers. I also see potential for several "Terminator"-themed characters, should this also have a "Metallic" version, to be specific.

Anyways, dunno if these boards are even read anymore, but I thought it'd be worth a shot. Thank you all in advance just for reading, those who'd support the idea I'd really appreciate it; and Devs, PLEASE??? Make this happen!?!

You should try getting Metal Ooze Tunneling from the Silver Rec Vendor. You can color it blue. That is if you are gold.

I have... found it rather opaque and lumpy... muddy, even in blue. I suppose it's a *decent* placeholder, closest thing to it; but I'd still insist on a Water version of it, true-to-CO's aesthetics. And since the mechanics are already there? It's really mostly FX.

If it was that simple a water power set would have been done a while ago.

Right. Well, that is if you mean FX re-skins of other sets. But I never said it was easy (even a re-skin, I certainly couldn't do it). Nor do I think or have I suggested that entire power sets should be created out of FX replacements. Luckily for all of us, I'm also not the one making this kind of decisions. Just another player, making a suggestion in the Suggestions Forums. Doesn't mean it's going to get picked up. Not exactly holding my breath here. Nonetheless:

We currently have 3 (let's face it, not all that different-looking) variations of the same travel power, Ooze Tunneling. I'm simply suggesting that, while a Water power set isn't happening, a Water version of said travel power would perhaps be a nice compromise in that regard, and a welcome one.

A Water power set seems to be in demand, this would maybe compliment Water-simulated builds, without (I would assume) as much difficulties/hindrance than, say, creating an entire power set from scratch, and a particularly challenging one for reasons we have already been told about and that I'm certainly not arguing against. It would be just one power, after all, based off another with already 3 (FX) variations and identical mechanics. NOT a whole new power set.

Furthermore, like many I've been longing for a Water power set since, ever, and personally, I think water in CO, is just... visually kinda stunning. I love it, I love the way it looks, and I have a character idea around it - so yes, while we're not getting a full power set and this might be the closest thing, I'll take it, I would love to see this idea happening. Again, doesn't mean it's going to.

That's my entire point. And more, because I get the impression from both your responses that you might have not read my first post? If you have, or, case I didn't express myself well, I apologize in advance on both accounts. And I appreciate the attention.

This is a different situation to water based attacks, things like flooding etc are far more complex than a transparent reskin of ooze tunneling.

You stated that if this was easy to implement, a water powerset would have been easy enough to implement too. Attacks involving water involve flooding, puddle formation, environment soaking, etc in order to look good. This would not and is easy to implement as a result.
