Is this game dead?
Is it doomed to getting silly alerts and events no one cares about, while adding in more vehicles and lock boxes?
Hell even with NWO out, STO still gets plenty of love having a huge content patch recently released.
I'm not trying to start anything, but honestly, I feel like I flushed 200 dollars down the drain when I got LTS and the best they could do over the past year was the alerts system. I just feel jipped that what had the potential to be a good game is now nothing more but a milk cow that the dev's don't really give a second glance at anymore.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if this game was shut down a year from now.
I'm sure I'll get crap from the "White Knights" and all, But I want cryptic to know how I feel. I've been playing your games since City of Heroes and now, well Let's just say I won't be playing anymore of your games in the future.
I do hope that this post is in vain and once your done playing around with NWO, you'll actually take a look back at this game and continue work on it again...But I'm not holding my breath.

You just listed all future content planned for this game.
Whether that's bad or good is for yourself to decide.
At least Trailturtle assured us that they're not planning on shutting CO down anytime soon.
I wouldn't say this game is dead, however it is undeniable that it is on life support. trust me I feel like you do and atm I feel like I flushed $200 down the toilet, but right now since ive played when it 1st launched.
however I do feel that this game can/could be the very best superhero game, even better then city of heroes. it is up to cryptic to want this game to get better, ive realized no matter how much us the fans complain and beg for this game to get some kind of improvement i.e. the foundry, we are either told "while we would love to put it into this game we cant" for whatever reason or we are out right ignored.
But yes, until Tumorboy comes back, it's dead jim.
and that will never happen, a snowball I the hot place has more of a chance to survive then tumorboy coming back to this game.
CO is where the newbie devs come to cut their teeth. You don't go back to first year after getting your degree
Just don't deceive us by shaping our expectations into crappy money-greedy stuff. You already did with Vehicles. Please give us Mechanon, Cosmic areas, a REAL Dr Destroyer story, and new awesome costume pieces. You can do it. But do you want it ?
But isnt that on PTS right now?

Regardless, the dozen people that will quit if Telepathy never gets its update won't spell doom for the game. :biggrin:
Don't let them fool you. They re-released a version of the telepathy powers.. the version BEFORE the bugs that were already addressed .. all need to be re-addressed. FEWER and MORE BUGGED than they were 9 months ago? REALLY?!
They only did it to score their last $15 they will ever see from me .. obvious they are nefariously plotting their most dubious way to get me to pay them for NO WORK DONE.
Why am I paying them to test their game in the first place?!
You pretend as though people who've stayed would leave for any reason ever. At this point its pure Stockholm syndrome. The relationship is abusive and I am surprised that I have volunteered for another beating myself.
as to why CO gets nothing. Cryptic owns the IP of Champions, they don 't own Startrek or D&D IP. They must please the owners or have their licence yoinked.

play the game or don't. it's got another 2-3 years easy. also we are getting new powers, and that's awesome.

History will NEVER be kind to Champions Online.
Good. I have no intent on supporting CO financially or emotionally until they give me telepathy. If that means you're miserable, that's ok with me. You've obviously never played a telepathic main in this game. There's enough misery coursing through my fingertips to fill two internets.

And looking at the state of this game at the moment... a pretty fair description.
On top of that, I know of several people who had their subscriptions to CO set to auto-renew and when the time came for auto-renewal, it didn't and they went to Silver status, even though they had more than enough money in their bank accounts to pay the subscription, and any attempts to talk to Perfect World about this has fallen on deaf ears.
Basically, this last example is what happened to people in City of Heroes just before the closure announcement; auto-renews failing even though the money was in the people's accounts.
Unless a dev redname (not the volunteer Community Manager from a different PW game known as Trailturtle) comes onto these boards and drops a list of things they will be adding to the game of real substance and most importantly PERMANENCE (such as power sets, story arcs, at LEAST one new zone with a multi-arc story to it as well as many other missions), then CO is on maintenance mode with a desperate cash-grab via lockboxes and single-map "events" that disappear after a few weeks, and basically what that person described CO as: a "zombie game".

Sure, but you're looking at it a little askew. The game does not neglect us. The developers neglect the game. We use the game. If what we use is neglected, it's not us getting abused. We can easily react to using a neglected product by simply not using it, or not paying for it.
However, if the neglect doesn't affect you in any meaningful way, then continuing to pay and/or play is not going to wreck your life.
If you log on and you're angry all the time, then you've got a problem. If you log in and have some fun, I don't see where there's any abuse in that.
I'm having fun with the parts of the game that the current CO dev team had nothing to do with in making.
Everything up to Whiteout, yes.
