i am very disappointed in Tateklys and his guards design. I would like to see what others could come up with. so let's have a contest to see who can make the best design.

And i think it's better to forget the old PnP pics of him, since Cryptic redesings everyone. Champions Beyond book has picture of him, page 72. Whos the guard? Kovarl?

Now, I don't feel so bad about using relatively normal looking eyebrows on my own Malvan character.

But it's the best use I've seen of the character creator to make him based on the source material. And I REALLY wish they'd done him like this!
We can nudge TT into convincing devs about using this design... after all if Duratok is in the alert... its possible. The only thing that could be a big big prob with this, its that the Tateklys AF has already a design, so switching wouldn't be as simple, if possible.
I would absolutely love to see this change though... lets see what some turtle nudging and poking can do.

In the books he is described as having (or affecting) black hair. He also is described as having one red eye and one green eye and wears purple shades sometimes. As a Malvan he's on the "Golden" end of their skin spectrum. (Which the above pic from Aliona gets correct on all counts.)
But I don't particularly mind him being blond as in the current game because Malvans change that sort of thing all the time.
In fact - in regards to any differences at all between the source material in the books and the game - you can technically handwave ANY of it by reason that Malvans change their look more than any Paris fashion plate ever! Tateklys wants to be blond with outrageous eyebrows and pointed ears that particular day? He can do it if he pleases.
Of course that equally excuses us in changing him BACK.
This would mean we would have to get staff powers too.

Not really. Not the way HE uses it. For him it's just a focus for... well... a LOT of things.
Think of it like the Malvan equivalent of Doctor Who's Sonic Screwdriver.
As the source material says - Tateklys is "a walking plot device."
And a future version of him figures out time-travel as well. So... yeah.
Edit: And that future version of him has changed the staff into a classy walking cane. In fact - if you were to imagine that version of Tateklys as being portrayed similarly as Loki played by Tom Hiddleston in The Avengers - specifically dressed as he was in the Stuttgart, Germany scene in the museum (before he changed to his "Reindeer Games" look as Tony Stark would put it) you would not be far off.
There is a scythe for Heavy Weapons. But we don't get to fight him anyway.
