Not a Review - Neverwinter

polishlightningpolishlightning Posts: 404 Arc User
I was just reading the "Not a Review" on Gaminformer and some of the observations I thought the community might find interesting. The 2 points below I'm pretty sure I've heard on the forums a few times.

The economy is one of the worst I've seen in years of playing MMOs.

I find the ubiquity of blind-purchase "grab bags" particularly distasteful,

    Typical Gamestop BS.
of course they are going to bash a game they can't make any money on.

That review was laughable, if he wants to talk distasteful lets start with Gamestops trade in scams

    My review:
    A passable game.

But it has Foundry. So it's the best thing ever.

I see nothing incorrect in his critique.

I am surprised how much this "not-reviewer" downplayed the auction house exploit. It was a catastrophic event from which the economy will never recover. And if that isn't going to kill NW, TESO will, in a few months.

Don't take this too serious. I'm just immitating the people who say the "kitchen sink patch" has ruined CO forever. :p

I think it's really hard to actually kill a game. I am dumping NW when ESO comes out though!

On the official site they use ESO. I have no idea what is the standard.

Sometimes, Flamingbunny, people have conversations on the boards, instead of pedantic snark-fests.

    Sometimes.

It's true, you can't use that website without sounding like a jerk. My ill-demonstrated point was that I had no idea what those acronyms stood for, either. Took me about 3 seconds to find out.
Give a man an answer, and he'll ask you every time, because he thinks you're smart.
Teach a man to Google, and he can look smart too!

But you could have given the answer with less effort than writing the links to those sites . . .

    Alas.

ESO = Elder Scrolls Online, btw

Anyone who thinks any economic disaster 'will never be recovered from' is ... wildly, absurdly incorrect.

Even if everyone suddenly got 100 billion AD, in a year all that will have been squandered on millions of sinks and they'd be back on track.

CO recovered from its money exploits, though the economy changed afterwards.
