Bearly Legal Luck

So, I opened a Takofanes lockbox today.

That lockbox had a Doomlord device and a premium gear box.

So, I opened the premium gear box.

That box had three legion pieces and 5 rank 7 mods.

I have no idea how that just happened. But I wanted brag for once :D

    Um...The best prize in a Tako box is a Doomlord piece and three guaranteed legion pieces. There was only one RNG roll there, really.

    Lucky git though.

    I got legions, Growth, Agility and Utility all in one with 5 rank 7 PRE mods on Mentella my PRE primary telepath :3

    The box drops the 5 R7 mods of your Primary Superstat. So its an amazing box all around.

    The worst thing about this thread is that it may encourage others to buy keys for lock boxes when in fact the odds of getting anything worthwhile are appalling :( So, whilst I am happy for Seki, a thoroughly nice guy who deserves the luck, I really hope that lock boxes disappear and we can simply buy the contents directly, without the random factor playing part.

    How long was the box in your inventory? Maybe you have to let them ripen before opening.

    This only seems to work for video game RNGs :( I also managed to get two Grav Bikes in a row a month ago. Never won anything on a lottery though.

    Congrats! I got some too a couple weeks ago, but it took about 150 tries and many Globals and many Zenz.

    Thats my secret :3

    Managed to get 3 Hawks, 2 Avalanches and a few other vehicles and Legions that way ^^

    I've gotten enough Legions so far to kit out my entire roster of lvl 40s, bar a few chars. (2/15 dont have them)

    You got good stuff too... No crappy Greater Health or Freedom variants, and you even got CON mods, the only thing greater than or equal to the expensiveness of Gambler's cores.

    Is this a rumor or a fact? If it's a fact, I'd appreciate some evidence to back up this bold declaration, it would be good to know. Thus far the mods I get from Takofanes Cache lockboxes seem to be 100% random.

    I've literally opened tens (maybe a hundred) of boxes and only ONCE I got a legion gear and that was the precision one, which is pretty cool. Once I got 5 x Gambler's gem 7.

    Whenever I opened a box that had a the Doomlord and R7 mods, they always granted the current character's primary stat. I can't confirm this since I didn't screen and thought it was common knowledge since it happened every time I was lucky enough to get one.

    I assume you had to Prey to some strange Bear God for this, maybe offer Human Sacrifices and what not?

    Used my stipend today to buy 5 keys and open some Malvanum Lockboxes, because, why not? Not like there's anything new to buy.

    The fifth box alone yielded Legion Gloves of Precision, Legion Helmet of Energy, Legion Helmet of Speed, 5x Lucky Gem rank 7 and one Centurion Grav Chariot.

    Yay!

    Yea, my luck with globals is horrid, so at least getting good drops is comforting.

    So, just wanted to report my experience with the new Socrates lockboxes.

    The first one I opened yielded Primary Defense Legion Gear, as well as the Socrates Chest Armor. I usually do better, but I think this is also good :P
