I've been hanging out in my favourite place, Vibora Bay, and I thought I'd ask around about the voodoo face paint -- the skull design. It's one of the costume drops I've never got in all of my characters who have gone through Vibora Bay.
What I'd like to ask is, does anyone have advice on the best and most effective places or methods to get a drop?
Alternatively, if anyone has one of these costume unlocks going spare, I'd be happy to negotiate a sale or trade.
There isn't a "best place", because there isn't a specific enemy that drops it. Any Sovereign Sons can drop it, zone or mission.
If you have a character capable of fighting large groups solo, pick up an instanced mission, like The Servants of the Main Loa, create a couple free accounts and team with them to increase spawn sizes, and clear the mission without completing it, then reset it and farm it again.
I recommended the mission above because you can't complete it by accident (thereby losing it), because you have to go through a door to fight Baron Cimitiere; just leave before opening the door and you can farm indefinitely.
If you can't handle team content solo, just do it alone. You'll get smaller groups, so there will be less chances to get the drop, but it will still work.
And if you've already completed the mission on the character you'd want to farm with, unlock it on another character, share a crossover version with a friend or free account, then have them share it with your farmer.

Well aware that any of the Sons can drop it, but sometimes people find a place that's fuller of mobs than others. Best to make sure I'm not missing a good place to cultivate the most possible foes at once.
I think I've completed that mission on every character who would have it open, and I'm *really* not into creating free accounts and levelling 'em to 40...but I may be able to team up with some friends if I can get them on at the same time I'm on. Everyone's been crazy in terms of schedule lately, myself included.
Thanks for the input. I'll take a look and see if any instanced missions against the Sons are available on any of my characters that have Vibora Bay open.
I'm still open for any other advice from anyone else, or of course a trade/sale of the unlock. I've a good many resources that are just sitting around collecting dust on some of my characters.
I know the feeling spending hours, even days farming for one particular item. I've done so trying to get the vest and the top hat (I already have it I am farming it for a friend of mine). What I did was follow a path all around the water front and attack anything that was from the Sovereign Sons. By the time I completed one lap, the mobs have already respawned (long as no one came up and attacked them while you were away). Can get a few drops a day, sometimes not one, just have to keep at it.
Heck I am a kind man, I am out there every day farming. If I get the drop I'll gladly hand it over to you free of charge.
You guys are absolutely awesome. Thanks for the very kind responses. I'll try to get in touch ASAP!
Although I don't understand the /trade channel thing...how do I use it? I tried to join the trade channel, but it didn't seem to work for me. Any help is much appreciated.
You can also add @hushicho to friends if you like, and you'll know when I'm on. You can always message me anytime. I wish we still had the old profiles!

You wouldn't need to level the alt accounts at all; you wouldn't even need to get them out of the tutorial. Just teaming with them is enough to increase the spawn size.

Just asking /trade channel and I'll hook ya up.
I mention using that channel, since I play STO a lot and can see your message when I'm in there, then just switch to CO to get it to ya.
