Actually, I think its positive tone is fine. The only reason why we're complaining is that there's mostly nothing new for us to do.

That's something that most new players won't have issues with for a very long time. The core missions of the game (in MC, Canada, Desert, Lemuria, MI, all that... Sadly excluding the Nemesis System, which is really hard to find in the first place anyway) still work, and they'll still have some side-events to compete/take part in.

If anything, new players from positive publicity is what the game would benefit most from.

I think, for a new player, there's a lot to be said for this game. It's free, for one thing, and there are loads of possibilities starting out.

It's not until later that the problems start cropping up, like the strangely limited starting mission experience (the oft-mentioned Westside startup, which is weird since they made the experience less open than it used to be). Or the way Alerts obscure most of the rest of the game. Or how pointless crafting is. Or how dead PvP is. Or the whole lockbox rabbit hole.

So, hey. Free mmo, what the hey.
There are many that are considerably worse.
