New Power idea

So far, Champions-Online (CO) has given some good powers and travel powers for our heroes to use to defeat villains.

But i was thinking of a new power for the game, Water!

We have a underwater world, i mean why not? It sounds awesome and i bet people online would properly like that idea..

Do you agree?

    Water's been talked about since the game's inception, but the main dev reason for not working on it was mostly problems in properly depicting the powers.
    However, they used to say the same thing about wind, and we've had those powers for quite some time now!
    The devs have also shown rather consistently that they are getting more and more clever in their techniques for powers and items and costume pieces.
    I bet Water powers will be in the game in the next year or two.

    water would be nice, for me what id really like is plant/nature powers. vine based crowd controls, melee powers with whipping thorn vines, bufs coming from flowers that open on your body and blast helpful/ harmful bursts of seeds. ranged bursts of thorns, debilitating mushrooms. basically rip of off nature affinity and plant control from coh, rip them off good, ignore dcou, their plant powers are...well, the vine lash is kind of cool, take that but the rest are dull.

    I heard someone saying that water wouldn't be even possible with the current engine D: Dunno how true that is. But I can think plenty of watery powers that would be cool :biggrin:

    yeah I think the response was something about not being able to make water "flow" right or something along those lines, but I don't quite remember.

    I think the water would be possible.
    They are probably thinking of making the water properly react to the environment, that's probably why it seems "impossible".

    But if you ask me, they did great with the Ooze travel power, which does feel like liquid.
    The transition into and from the Ooze looks great aswell.

    So a pre-animated object with a "flowing" texture above seems to do the trick very well.

    Sign me up! Similar to how Earth is a hybrid Range/Tank set, I'd like to see plants as a hybrid Range/Support or Support/Control set. Control powers get short shrift in this game, and I'd like to see them revisited (I played a controller in CoH...a lot of controllers).

    It might be nice to shoehorn in some "whip" powers (vines) which could be colored to look like regular whips.
