Recently we've received answers to some burning questions that we had and whilst personally, the answer to some were unsavoury, it was a comfort if you will to know -something- was being done.
Been, seening alot of negativity from people on the forums recently, more than usual...anyway back to the point of the OP.
What are your reactions towards the answers we received?
I was happy to receive some communications from Cryptic.
BUT...being the bittervet that I am. It was like pulling teeth to get said communications from Cryptic. I dread thinking that we have to resort to forum melt downs to get them to talk to us.
What was answered and not answered leads me to believe that:
1) Cryptic is not pulling the plug on CO in the near future.
2) We are not getting significant resources for any major development.
Basically, status quo.

They've got a lot of work to do and only so many people available. I'm looking forward to the next event they'll put up, which sounds like may be the Forum Malvanum.

While I would have liked to see "yes, you'll be getting the Foundry soon" the more realistic answer of don't hold your breath is still appreciated.
Small teams working on large projects have to prioritize and somebody's item has to end up on the bottom of the list. I've still got a sliver of hope they can snag someone from STO or NWO who knows the Foundry system to get it up and running for us.

Glad to finally see some communication, disappointed with the answers we got and the ones we didn't (Chat Ban - what are you gonna do with it?). Basically, it was Ask Cryptic as usual--at least, as was usual months ago when we stopped getting them.
The answers to the questions were OK, even if they weren't satisfactory (I don't want more lockboxes Q_Q) but I, too, was lead to believe that the game is simply going to keep on existing and keep up it's slow pace of development.
I think the complete and utter lack of answers relating to pvp can be considered their answer to the question "Is any attention going to be paid to pvp anytime soon?". Working as intended.

I am ok is some way. Probably, most unanswered questions could be just answered as "not in the plans", "too hard in the future", "it is cool but there is not a time frame to implemented"
However, I can guess moreless the pace of the development so I can plan my gaming time accordingly.
The most upsetting part is the LACK of effort shown to give players (and ex-players) actual answers. The questions were closed Sunday and not answered until Wednesday NIGHT. Wednesday morning TrailTurtle said "We're working on making sure we dont just say "SOON(tm)" <--Paraphrased.
So not only were the questions not being prepped for answer before they were closed, but even in the 3 day span that they WERE closed they still didn't have answers solidified on Wednesday.
More-so TrailTurtle admitted to making an EFFORT not to just say "Soon" and this was the result. If that doesn't reek of "Soon(tm)" I don't know what does. There was no "Autas are scheduled to go live in two weeks" or "Telepathy is scheduled to hit the PTS #NOW (or even in 4 weeks)"
- -
I also want to point out that we never recieved definate answers to "What was discusssed in the PREVIOUS meeting TrailTurtle had with the developers." We were all pacified to say "Hey guys.. TT is meeting them this week.. lets wait till we hear about that before getting mad".. never happened.
Then it was "Hey Guys lets wait till we get answers from the Ask Cryptic answers before getting mad"
I simply am not going to be pacified by nice words and high hopes. Show me the result..

They give a firm date, something happens and they miss it and we drown them in a piss-storm of hate and you wonder why they don't give us a firm answer anymore?

In other parts of real life, having a deadline gives you motivation to get things done.
Imagine you get to a job, and your boss tells you "Okay here's the list of stuff you need to do. Get it done...whenever. We'll keep paying you every week no matter how quickly or slowly you get it done though."
I think it would do wonders for community confidence if they were to actually give a date for something, and then accomplish it by that date. They've been doing this for a few years right? They should have the ability to set realistic dates by now, shouldn't they?

There's a big difference between maintaining something with a skeleton crew and maintaining and improving something with a skeleton crew.
When everything is humming along nicely it's easy to stay within projected timelines, but when something goes haywire the people that are fixing it are the people that would be working on whatever bright idea the brass had.

"Skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced" are disqualifiers for management. Sales needs yesmen to say yes we can have a cold fusion plant capable of powering the U.S. while fitting in a bread box ready in two hours.

in 2013 is the new "Soon".. they have 9 months to give us Auras. And then AFTER that.. a telepathy pass.. (no specifics of what will be in the pass or if any of the work that players actually loved and wanted will be included)

It was like communication from a politician. All "we are doing something, but we can't do what everyone wants" in an attempt to placate the masses while avoiding the crucially important questions altogether.

CO continues to be a tragedy of potential unrealized, and it looks like it'll stay that way.

Pretty much, I was not impressed. At all.

I'm less pleased that my expectations have been ground down so far that crumbs are an unexpected joy.

I have no emotions whatsoever until I'm sure that I'm not being lied to. Turtle doesn't have a history of that, so I'm cautiously optimistic.
I hope our crumbs turn into croutons on a nice ceasar salad.
