Lets talk Aura's and get this out of the way as soon as possible.
1) What auras are a must?
Kontrol needs THIS
2) What should the cost in Zen?
3) Should it be account wide? Per character?
4) Who all is interested in such a token? Is there enough positive feedback to do it?
5) What could Cryptic do to it to make you furious?
Delay Telepathy any longer.

I'd suggest that starting with the elements would be a good idea (fire, frost, earth, electricity, etc.) as well as some darkness, light, or perhaps some magical auras. Hopefully you'll be able to color them in some way...
2) What should the cost in Zen?
I'm not sure how they're going to be implemented. Is it a single aura that effects your entire character, or is it multiple items that affect different parts of the body? If it's the latter, then I would pay more, just because I could do more with them (that is if they're sold as a set).
As for my actual answer, I'd pay around 250-400 zen.
3) Should it be account wide? Per character?
If it's an item you buy, then I'd suggest Account Bound, but if it's built in the tailor, then I think it should be Account Wide.
4) Who all is interested in such a token? Is there enough positive feedback to do it?
I would totally buy and use them, especially for making theme builds.
5) What could Cryptic do to it to make you furious?
Well, if they put them in a grab bag, made them non-colorable, or priced them around 1000 zen, then I would be a bit upset.
Cost I can't imagine they'd make it more or less than a buck. Should be non-binding or bind to account.
Ohhh I'd pay a good amount for this, or something similar.
I would dearly love to get rid of the aura from electric form, warrior, and supernatural power, for instance.
Not sure if that's an aura issue or not, but wanted to voice my support.

2. I think a low price, but per-character would be good enough for the micro-transaction needs of the game. Maybe 100 Z per aura.
3. I would make them bind on pickup so that people buys lots of them. If the price is low, people will do it. The game needs micro-transactions. Once a character has bought multiple auras, they can select which to display.
4. I would buy these for each of my 27 toons.
5. Putting them in lockboxes, with less than 1% chance of getting one, would make me furious.

"Basic" Auras should be free.
The more elaborate or specific auras should be sold, for Zen, at around 200 per aura of 500 for sets.
Auras should avoid any sort of bright flashing effect, so as to not cause people w/ certain conditions pain or discomfort.
Auras should suppress somewhat while in combat, so as to not get in the way of seeing the action.
I would like to see head, hands, feet, and whole-body "flavors" of auras.
I would love to see Auras as account-wide unlocks, in addition to being available as mission rewards. Perhaps if you buy an Aura, it is available to claim via the free section of the C-Store, (as many times as you want to keep taking it), but these should be bind on pickup. Others which would be given as rewards for certain missions/bosses or from drop boxes, would be bind on equip.
Although it may go against some of the travel powers, a type of aura which is triggered while "on the move" would be cool.
Aura-related emotes would be cool. Let's say you bought the fire aura set, it could include a few fire-related emotes, (available to any character on your account, they'd just be initially unlocked w/ the purchase of the aura set).

Kirby dots were the aura the devs tossed out firesale style right before they announced CoH was dead. How about we not start with that one?

No idea. Hmmm. 500 for a single theme (like fire) that unlocks all variations (head, eyes, torso, hands, combinations) and unlocks account wide. They are fluff, less even then hide outs. No reason to charge absorbent amounts of money like vehicles (especially since vehicles have a battle purpose). Please, oh please, let every one be buyable and a few of the basics attainable in-game (Q-conversion not counted as "in-game")
I'm definitely interested but only if it's done right. Vehicles were abhorrent. Let's see how well they pull this off...
I'd be pretty pissed if auras were only available through lockboxes and drifter store. I'd probably quit. I mean, I already pretty much have aside from me being subscribed. I stopped playing frequently awhile ago...
I say stuff and I say things, sometimes together but only when I'm feeling adventurous.
I'm @blu8 in game!
And let's not Kid ourselves (well yourselves really) it will definately be tied into the lockbox system for the more exclusive (I suggest dark color versions of auras be locked behind lock boxes) editions.
But what I suggest is auras being added to the other lock boxes available, not one of their own!
That way when you buy a vehicle lockbox, you are guaranteed to get something fun!
Or alternatively make all the more exclusive auras buy able with drifter salvage.
Auras could be a fantasizing way to get CO revenue up, and lead to more intense development.
Yeah, i would like my Inferno AT to not have the effect of Fire Form. (I know can remove it, but would lower it attack power.)

@ZetBuster
Then stick a few more in for gold players (they need to add to the value of gold subs feel incline to take one up)
finally place the rest in the C-store as purchasable sets fire, ice, shadow etc etc as there much the same as a costume sets I would be inclined treat them the same for unlocking and pricing so about 475 per set and account wide unlock.
Finally perhaps some very specific faction/enemy based unlocks that would be unlocked through game play (not drifter salvage, questionite or lock boxes) stuff like Medusas hair (after they give it a rework to be more snake like)
****edit***
In case I wasn't clear please no lock boxes

1) Psychic/Psionic Auras are a definate MUST, as well as elemental, mystic and "techy" auras. I'd be pleased if at least every powerset was touched in some way or encompased in an aura. and no I dont mean some crappy glow ball on the head for telepathy. >_>. As Smackwell and others have no doubt pointed out..an aura eater would be good too, for all those people who hate AoPM's odd aura, on mystic chars it looks ok but on others...it looks ugly and ruins the costume.. or Mind AT's who no longer want ruinic circles spinning around them constantly..because nothing about their aura denotes Telepathy >_>. A long shot here, but a Force Field Aura? Similar to those in Resistance in cell block C the domes holding down the magic users are a perfect size for a PFF aura...:3
2) Zen Cost? Hmm...I'd pay 200 - 400 Zen per aura, my ideal price would probably be 250Z per aura. Or we could have "Elemental Aura" Packs which group auras together in a bundle.
3) Definately should be account wide, I'd like to see it perhaps as a new tab in tailor?
4)I think it would be a plus on Cryptic's part if: Every Gold/LTS member gets a free token for ONE Aura (account wide token) similar to the free hideout golds are entitled to. I'd definately be intrested in such a token.
5) To make me furious? Furious was two days ago when I was forced into the realisation, I'm not going to be playing my main character for even longer than the half a year I have been waiting so far. But I guess they could make them either in game and stupidly rare or they could shove them into Aura Lockboxes which we have to take to Bit-I mean Witchcraft to unlock as she now vends "Mystical Keys of Arcane Power" which are needed to open these boxes. So yeah, lockboxing them. OR Taking an unnecessary amount of time with these Aura's which were even planned I think before telepathy around this time last year maybe? Which in turn keeps Mentella rotting away in psychic suppression gear..alot longer..
EDIT: As bioshrike said, I agree about functions to auras in the sense that we get aura related emotes, which may make our auras intensify, weaken, pulse or perhaps even change color?

Hmm..just wondering if we'll have issues transfering ourselves with Aura's onto vehicles? Oh well, knowning my luck, I'm likely to be told the reason why PSI-like auras were not included in the update was because:
"There was not enough time"
or
"There was less demand for it than the others"
or
"We had more, pressing matters to attend to, like lockboxes."

I would like to see auras designed as customizeable devices. The basic Aura device would have three slots.
1) Color
2) Effect (sparkles, earth crumble, specific energy type effect such as electricity, etc)
3) Emanation Point.
Have the un-modded Aura device be a C-Store purchase that is Bind on Equip. Then have a palette of common color mods either drop off of mobs or be accessible as in game rewards in some other manner.
Put other Color, Effect, or Emanation point mods in the C-Store. Put others in Lockboxes (not because I like lock boxes but because we should all know by this point that LB's are not going away so lets try to figure out how they can be used to Cryptic/PWE's benefit while also giving us what we want).
Make all of this tradeable (BOE seems reasonable to me).
'Caine, miss you bud. Fly high.
1. Make a new page in the tailor just for auras. (Head, shoulders, back, upper arms, lower arms, hands, torso, waist, upper legs, lower legs, feet, cape, wings, and full body separately.)
2. Auras are found like costume unlocks that unlock account wide.
3. These individual costume pieces work for specific parts listed above.
How to monetize them and find aura costume pieces:
1. Aura costume sets can be unlocked in the C-Store. (includes individual pieces for each slot AND a full body one)
2. Special individual aura pieces that can be found in lockboxes. (Sentient Orb, Multiple Image, Footprints)
3. Auras that are unique to bosses are added to existing content and can be farmed. (Mindslayer)
NEVER MAKE AURAS DEVICES!!!
Unless you can keep Dark Aura and make new full body device auras on top of the tailor's full body aura.
Great ideas.
Whoever you are, be that person one hundred percent. Don't compromise on your identity.
1) They should release auras with several generic and basic auras FREE and for EVERYONE.
2) Auras put into the C-Store NOT as single items. They should be sold in aura theme packs. What this means is that a group of auras would be sold together I.E. auras that emanate from the head, eyes, hands, body, etc. Pick and choose from the pack or several packs to create the look you are aiming for.
3) As for price point, I would imagine a group of themed auras should cost about the same as the themed costume packs do since they are basically the same thing, "costume fluff stuff".
4) Like costumes (at least how they are supposed to work) they are unlocked account wide.
5) This last point is more of a wish list item; Ages ago I remember using weapon replacers for one character that had an assault rifle and not only did the rifle graphics change but the ammunition that you visually saw shoot out of it also changed, but wait, there's more, the SOUND also changed. What I am asking for is if it would be possible to also have the ability to pick from different sounds as well as different visuals. The example I am thinking about was something called a Frost Rifle (or something close to that name, I forget exactly)
Thanks for reading.
EDIT:
6) If Auras are released only through lock boxes (or any other form of gamble pack concoction) then they will effectively not exist *for me*.
I don't want to gamble on the chance to maybe get an aura that I want. I would prefer them to be placed into the C-Store so that I know ahead of time EXACTLY what I will be purchasing and EXACTLY how much said purchase will cost me.
I do not gamble, period.
Ashlocke was my original forum name but was unable to keep it during the PW forum migration. *Shakes Fist*
* Electric Eyes (incl. for Floating Brain). My Brainbot crafted AF has balls of electricity for eyes. It looks awesome. I want it for some Dr Cerebellum costumes ASAP
* Electricity Head Aura. This would be perfect for Dr C and i'm sure it would be great for others too.
* Electricity Hand Aura. Stemming from the palm of the hand this would look awesome especially if it could be set to one, the other or both hands.
* Electricity Overall Aura. (should be like low-rank electricty form or stationary q-store electro-flight so electricity form can look good with it)
* Radiation. There's lots of radioactive heros and villains who would be served by this. should come in overall, head, eyes and hand versions. (this also needs to work for floating brains as i've seen a fair few radioactive brains out there)
* Fire. (like getting set on fire rather than the form which last i used was floating in front of my character when moving) Overall, head, eyes and hand versions too.
* Special retro scifi costume piece auras to make up for lost costume pieces! (see ALSO below)
* Bat Aura. An aura of circling bats.
* Cloud of Insects Aura. From flies around an undead hero to a carryover of insect flight or tunelling this would be great for entomologically powered heros/nemesis
2) What should the cost in Zen?
Depends on the answer to number 3. If bought per character should be cheap, if account-wide could be more expensive.
ALSO, Retro Scifi costume buyers got ripped off by the loss of the floppy antenna parts that disappeared a while back in two separate patches (one took it from female characters and another took it from males) and while the bugs that rendered several other parts invisible were fixed (though floating brains stopped moving around i don't mind that as it often looked buggy) the antennas are still gone many months, whole threads and several sigs later. A nice way to say sorry might be to give those with the retroscifi costume set, if possible, a free aura or two that suits the style and costume parts, especially the various bubble-dome helmets.
3) Should it be account wide? Per character?
Depends on cost. If cheap it would be fine per character but if expensive i'd want it account wide.
4) Who all is interested in such a token? Is there enough positive feedback to do it?
I want auras, lots of others do too.
5) What could Cryptic do to it to make you furious?
Not fix the floppy antennas while also not compensating those who liked them with an adequate replacement in appropriate costume parts.
Put them in lockboxes or in the drifter store for exhorbitant costs or put them randomly in the drifter store. I don't want to pay to get any auras i dont want to use, i dont want more stuff cluttering up my bank slots and bags thats all too full as it is with mods.
I'm happy to pay good money for exactly what i want. I'm happy to grind for questionite where i know no minute or hour of playing is wasted and so every bit of gaming gets me to my goal. Where i feel any of my gaming is wasted and a gamble it makes me less interested, less satisfied with the game and feel more like playing Minecraft and many other games instead.

2. 100 zen per Aura Lockbox you wish to open.
3. From what I heard it's going to involve a new slot... the aura will probably be bound once you jam it in the slot.
4. I might have 1 character that I would get an aura for.
5. They couldn't really do anything to make me mad... my expectations are fairly realistic. If they come out with 1 new thing that I actually like per year, they have my approval for that year, in context.

Good point. Hmm how many of my characters would i want Auras for?
Well my Vampiress Scarlet Pippistrelle has Dark Aura on already.
My main Dr Cerebellum Sapphobotica i would go with an electricity aura and especially if i can get electricity eyes like the brainbot crafted action figure has.
I made a male version of Dr Cerebellum i rarely use but works better for some of the bigger bulkier costume builds, if they were cheap enough or unlocked acount wide like costume pieces i'd get electricty auras for the male version too.
My scifi soldier Moon Unit i'd maybe have some sort of subtle sparkly effect or personal forcefield look aura when using most of her costumes so i'd get one for her too.
Professor Ant Head is radioactive so except for when she is in her secret identity costume a radioactive or green-coloured fire aura i would definately use for her.
Crimson Chiroptera my pulp-era vigilante is the first one i can think might not get aura'd. However she already has that invisible effect from stealth which looks great and if an aura was available that didn't break her concept and style then she would also get an aura.
Agent Grey, my pulp era alien might depending on what became available. I use the disc flight with him so some high-tech stuff is ok but it'd have to fit his trenchcoat and Luger costume and his WW2 GI costume so maybe he's the least likely.
And then there's Radioactive Cosmonaut who i haven't decided yet is a hero or villain but a radioactive looking aura would be perfect whether a hero or Nemesis.
So looking at that while i wouldn't use the auras all the time, so would need to be able to turn them on or off easily or keybind them so changing costumes turns them on or off appropriately it seems pretty much almost all my current hero's i'd get auras for if they were affordable enough and easilly enough obtained.
I'd use them on several of my Nemesis too!

All I'm going to say about auras is that they will likely not come out as great as everybody is hoping for.
BoP from a grab bag or lock box would be about the thing that'd make me hate the system.

Auras that fit all themes, nut just 'energy' or 'element' or 'magic'. Holo hex energy fields and things of that nature should also be available for tech themes. Neglecting the basic hero themes would be a foolish thing.
2) What should the cost in Zen?
Depends on the lockbox's drop rates, I would imagine. Did you forget where you are?
3) Should it be account wide? Per character?
Per character. No point in having this aura thing overpriced for the purpose of swapping it from one toon to the next.
4) Who all is interested in such a token? Is there enough positive feedback to do it?
I'd do it if there was something that fit the themes of my character. So far most people want magical B.S., which is of no interest to me. I'm cool that others like it, but not for me. I think this game has too much magical stuff.
5) What could Cryptic do to it to make you furious?
Turn it into a lockbox or overpriced Drifter item that requires me to spend $50 in cosmic keys. But I already know they will so I made peace with it.
The bigger concerns:
With these make stupid noises? Please, don't. AoPM and Dark Aura are obnoxious enough as it is.
Will these change the stats or types of damage? If so, then you're forcing cosmetic changes for the sake of damage that I'd rather not do. Most people wouldn't.
I can already see how people are going to have 3 bright and noisy auras going at once all over, looking like walking rave parties.
