I've been leveling up this build, and it's been working pretty great so far. Hardened in END Spec gives good HP (+1000 with 250 END). Kickback works wonders. You'll actually gain energy when running Mini-Gun + Micro Munitions. Then when you're at full, tap spam Power Gauntlet / Tac Missiles until ~30% energy and let it build up again. Tac Missiles have higher DPS than Power Gauntlet, just fyi.

As for Role, you don't lose that much damage from being in Hybrid vs Ranged Damage so it's perfectly fine for DPS, or tanky DPS (since SSS get higher scaling in Hybrid, but Damage roles get a flat 25% bonus). Obviously an Offensive Passive (Quarry or Targetting Computer would be best) in Ranged Damage role would be the best for damage if that's what you want to focus on.

Honestly, I really can't tell if you're trying to be a Tank or a DPS. You don't have Bulwark, no CC/CS, and you don't plan to be in Tank Role... but you're running a Defensive Passive and taking defensive specializations...

The damage modifiers from role bonuses are multiplicitive, so there is a large difference between hybrid and dps. The more additive +dmg you stack the less difference the hybrid +dmg becomes (because it's additive) and the closer to the actual 25% damage boost listed in the dps role tooltip you get.

As far as the build goes I agree with kelbornx. You're built like a tank, and could probably make it into a decent tank by moving points from Unrelenting to Bulwark and shifting adv points around to grab CC on Power Gauntlet and CS on Mini-gun.

I would also look into shifting spec points to take advantage of the fact you're using a blast attack. The "Make It Count" spec in Guardian is a multiplicative damage increase, as is the Guardian Mastery spec... assuming you can handle the energy cost of fully charging your blast attack more often while running the other toggles still.

If you really want to get crazy with the dps, Power Gauntlet or Tac Missiles with Avenger Mastery on a PA crit build is amazing. Again, assuming you can handle the power cost.

This thread and kelbornx's build inspired me - I was testing out my level 40 build for this guy anyway.

I still miss Regen, which was the leveling defensive passive, but it's able to do 5-man Powerhouse on Hard, and survive Gravitar, so ... Invuln seems to be doing okay.

For regular content, I just use Ranged / Targeting Computer.

Surprisingly, although the targeting IS wonky... I quite like Plasma Beam.

And I actually quite rarely have to even use the energy builder. For leveling, I went with Circle of Arcane power.

I'm NOT going tanky with this build, more - dual-role. Hybrid Invuln, Ranged TC, Tank Invuln...

Mostly DPS, no support or tanking to speak of (except when I'm the only 40 in alerts...).

Personally, I have never liked the Wrist Bolters for personal aesthetic reasons so I figured I could choose between Power Bolts or Force Bolts. Both had the same look, palm or fist fired energy, but the advantage of having even a weak FF every so often was more appealing to me than a small DoT. I also chose to take Quarry as the passive and focused on the physical damage attacks in the PA set. This is a great boost to damage and the Dodge/Avoidance rocks, with Flippin and Evasive Maneuvers to boost your damage mitigation.

If you find you want more survivability you can drop R3 in Quarry for the Fair Game adv as long as you stack and talent for extra Con. The big upside to Quarry and this build is the stacking of more Int and Ego with the Audacity buff.

    And that's my two cents.
