Does the offense bonus make a difference in a builds damage?

Im very curious about this factor mostly becusae I have just had a change in gear in one of my toons. Super stats were high with crit severity about 107. Orginally I had about 68 offense and did about 9K crits with force cascade. But when I had switched to gear that increased crit severity to 114 and my offense to 15 (if i remember correctly), I was able to deal 10K crit with Force cascade. So my question is, does the offense stat play a big role in damage or is it a minor thing???

To see what percentage your offense is stat is doing, go to the info tab and scroll over offense. I don't know how that percentage effects damage though.

It really depends. FF characters hit diminishing returns on bonus damage (SS bonus + Offense + Slotted Passive + Form + Active Offense + STR/EGO bonus, etc). The actual bonus that you get would vary depending on other factors. Should you be running a Defensive Passive and IDF, your SS bonus, STR/EGO bonus, and Offense stat will play a much larger role. With an Offense Passive and Form, your Offense and STR/EGO bonuses won't play that big of a role.

I haven't seen much theorycrafting on this in a while though, so I can't tell you exactly when DR hits. I just switched from Way of the Warrior (with +89% stated bonus damage) to Night Warrior (with +44% stated bonus damage) in one of my builds, and I only lost about 8% damage. Had I done this at level 40 (with higher Offense and bonus on my Form), I probably would not have noticed any difference at all.

Offense, Passive, Ego/Str bonus, Superstat Role Bonus, Active Offense/That-one-darkness-power-advantage & Star bonuses are all additives.

Critical Severity and Negative Resistances are Multiplicative As well as That one tk form.

Additives have no diminishing returns in regard to how much 1% is. They just require too much from the player to push an extra 1% on top of their ~900%.

Multiplicative bonuses come after all additives and are slightly harder to obtain but are much more powerful than additives.

All powers have a base damage that the additives apply to(first) then the multiplicative bonuses are placed.

    Note: Most powers have variance.

Defense doesn't get any worst than it does at .5 but offense takes the biggest dump on all the values 200+.

At level 40 67.6 offense is 15% damage bonus and 1288.6 offense is 52% damage bonus

    (1288.6/67.6)*15 = 285.932%

    Compare 52%(actual) to 285.932%('estimated')

    (120/67.6)*15 = 26.627('estimated') 22%(actual)
    (135.2/67.6)*15 = 30('estimated') 24%(actual)
    (209.1/67.6)*15 = 46.398('estimated') 31%(actual)

    Base Offense(0) grants 0%
    67.6 Offense grants 15%
    120 Offense grants 22%
    135.2 Offense grants 24%
    209.1 Offense grants 31%
    263.9 Offense grants 34%
    340.5 Offense grants 38%
    433.4 Offense grants 41%
    472 Offense grants 42%
    563.8 Offense grants 44%
    702.7 Offense grants 47%
    739.7 Offense grants 47%
    829.5 Offense grants 48%
    851.2 Offense grants 49%
    881.1 Offense grants 49%
    1040.7 Offense grants 50%
    1066.7 Offense grants 51%
    1188.6 Offense grants 51%
    1288.6 Offense grants 52%

With all that said it is significantly easier to mega-stack offense than defense.
