PvPers (a real small part of community) raging on devs for "destroying" PvP which is a part of the game they enjoy most.
Why ? Because they cant pvp as they want. Nothing pops anymore except B.A.S.H . And some of the "trollpvpers" are driving new players away from even B.A.S.H . Lets ignore the B.A.S.H thingy for a little while.
Why do we never get a pop ? No one is playing it. Who'd want to play hero games unless they are really interested in PvP ? People used to q for hero games even if they were PvE'rs. Answer is the rewarded gears. We barely have 2 gears for pvp rewards now and even they are outdated because of Legions gear.
Its almost 1 year since the On-Alert launch we still have the immune turrets in stronghold.
Its almost 1 year since the On-Alert launch we are still waiting for the rewarded gears from pvp as Crush promised.
Its almost 1 year since the On-Alert launch we are waiting for a pop all the time ?
If devs want a theme park MMO, you can just erase the pvp completely so we know what is what. If there are still some people playing your game and paying money for it, you gotta do something for them. You should "earn" that money.
We are subscribers like any other PvErs and only difference between us and PvErs is we like competition between players more when they dont.
You could make more money off PvP using keys/lockboxes/devices etc. Saying this only because some people believe devs are money focused. Not gonna lie i think the same.
I rarely post on forums or make threads, even i felt like i must communicate with a dev or someone who is responsible. Since devs dont even bother replying the tickets , had to make a thread.
So guys, lets go all out on this thread, mention what we want , what is the problem once again and lets see if we can get a help hand from any dev...
Unfortunately they can't just remove that section like that, that's why they leave it to rot, infact.
It really should be easy now, since there is nothing related to acclaim/hero games anymore. And considering noones giving a fk about it, yeah devs should go on and do it.

It would cost them development resources, which this game has basically ZERO right now.
Any change whether positive or negative isn't going to be done for pvp or this game's pve for that matter, anytime soon.
I love how some folks act like the pve part of this game is somehow getting these massive updates that pvp isn't.
pve and pvp are in the same boat folks: the boat of PWE doesn't give a flying **** if its not NWO or STO.
If there had never been a COH there would never have been a CO.
Nor keeping it there. If you arent going to improve/fix it, why would you keep it anyways ? There are still some people who are missing hero games and willing to play. And they are ready to pay for their subs.
Most important thing here is that Cryptic is losing business over their neglect of PvP and I think that's what this thread is really pointing out. PvPers are willing to spend money for PvP-related lockboxes, etc. We lack any rewarding Acclaim gear as well. The only way to get something to pop aside from BASH is to ask folks to queue up in copvp chat, that is, when people are even online anymore. Which brings us back to the point, people are dropping subs and picking up other games by this point.
And to the guy crying that PvE'rs aren't getting any love: That's a complete lie. They get a rotation of alerts, seasonal cosmics, a slew of vehicles only they seem to give a crap about, etc. This is so because Cryptic/PWE's cash cow is F2P archetypes who are built to fail in PvP, pigeon-holing them into the box that is PvE.
As far as I am concerned, CO is 99.99999% dead for freeform PvPers. Time to move on.

Since there's no benefit to either of them, the correct course of action is to do nothing.

Apparently pvpers don't make up a very sizeable portion of the population... or they don't spend as much money as we think... or the ones that remain are spending like crazy. Whatever the case, the amount of pvp money that's leaving apparently isn't worth it to risk the pve money that's staying.

No one gives a crap about vehicles...and it's hardly a slew.
How can Free archetypes be a cash cow?
The seasonal cosmics are recycled content, they're not new.
The alerts are more recent recycled content.. cycle.. rotation... similar.
Where's Rampage #2?
PvEers got vehicles.. and apparently didn't even want them. Most of the people I've seen who have vehicles are the pvp nuts who hang out in the middle of rencen.
As far as I am concerned, CO is 99.99999% dead for freeform PvPers. Time to move on.
If you wanna get technical, it's 80% dead... since Bash still pops.... well, we gotta figure dueling in there I guess... so it's 66.666~% dead if you consider dueling to be legitimate pvp. Well.... okay bash and dueling aren't nearly as active as even they used to be so... let's say 83.333~% dead.
Champions Online: Be the hero you wish you could be in a better game.
Since there's no benefit to either of them, the correct course of action is to do nothing.
I believe that is what gave people the impression that you said they should remove the hero games.
Also... what is a theme park MMO? Is that like "Theme Park Tycoon Online"? Sounds fun.

A theme park MMO is where both PvE and PvP sucks so players have to keep their theme and roleplay in order to have some fun. Thats where CO is going now.
Yes, PvPers arent a big portion of community. Doesnt change the fact it used to be and it can be anytime with a few improvements. CO has lost almost all of its active PvPers but they wish the PvP could be fun like the good old days so they can start spending some money and PvP again. Now its just doesnt worth the time but that doesnt mean it has lost its potential.
This game has the most potential for both PvP/PvE i have ever seen in a game. Being free on picking any power you want (that makes lots of powerful combos), being able to move as you wish (awesome moving abilities), great experience in PvE (only thing it needs is a better storyline and more story attached missions/lairs), also great experience in PvP (community itself is awesome) and the roleplaying abilites you could never find in any game but CO.
Cryptic, you have nothing to lose from improving your OWN GAME but earn a lot of [money/players].

PvP it is not only a FF matter, in fact it is more of a concern for ATs. Have you ever heard about the resctrictedhero games. The ones that are open only to the ATs?
Let me express my opinion!
I think it would be better to create a new zone Millennium City offering players the PVP.
I mean anyone can be attacked and defended by players depends Levels (40-40) (39-39) .....
I hope to have others agree with my opinion and it can be done.

That would be a bloodbath...I'm just imagining that Zone to be like one of the higher level CoH zones one called Dark Astoria..with PvPers waiting around EVERY corner waiting to kill you...sounds like a nice idea though xD

It was done in CoH. There were zones Pvp only like Bloody Bay , Siren Call etc, and every zone had different pvp rules. However there were 2 factions heroes and villains and everyone started in his faction own base and everyone was sidekicked to the zone lvl. Also when you went in the zone there was warning (for30 seconds , i believe) and while that warning was active you were untouchable and you could leave the zone unmolested if you choose to

Taking what we have in BASH right now and expanding that to an entire zone.
I don't think I need to say anything else.

If you wanna get even more technical, you could also factor in the multiple tiers that don't pop either. And AT/FF. T1/2- 4 queues each- UTC/ZA-FF/AT T3- 8 queues- Koth/BASH/UTC/ZA AT/FF T4- 10 queues- SH/Koth/BASH/UTC/ZA FF/AT. Factoring in dueling, this leads to a count of 27 forms of PvP, 25 of which are dead. 92.5% Dead. (100/27= 3.7. 3.7x25= 92.5)
If we're going to state BASH and Dueling as half-dead, as you did, then it's even worse, at 96% deadness.

Please explain this better. Alerts already use the PvP queueing format and programming, how would this change anything?
the vehicles ( you pvprs could use them for airbornd duels- that could be something to work on.
This already happens in Renaissance Center.
PvP it is not only a FF matter, in fact it is more of a concern for ATs. Have you ever heard about the resctrictedhero games. The ones that are open only to the ATs?
Yes, I'm sure ubtri, a PvPer of almost 2 years now, does not know about PvPing with archetypes, even though he has run Devastators in the past. This is obviously news to him.
Replysponses in bold.

When Inventors were new, I PvP'd well with them too
Yes my estimate might have been a tad off, but I also don't feel dueling in Ren Center has anything to do with Hero Games, an actual developed aspect of CO that is mostly dead. 4 game modes and only 1 gets played for a few hours a day by people who use it to troll (BASH).
When was the last time content was added or updated for the better in regards to HG's? On Alert was nothing more than a nerf to reward gears. How anyone can argue that PvE isn't getting ALL the attention is just ignorant.

Exactly, we should get united and ask for what we paid for. So, why would you want to argue/fight with eachother when you can unite in order to try get some love for everyone ?
That would be a bloodbath...I'm just imagining that Zone to be like one of the higher level CoH zones one called Dark Astoria..with PvPers waiting around EVERY corner waiting to kill you...sounds like a nice idea though xD
Ok you're thinking of Warburg with was the lvl 35+ (or was that 40+) PvP Zone that was completely Free for All once you finished the count Down upon loading in. If a person wasn't on your team they could be attacked, once away from your Faction's base (Hero/ Villain). ALL other PvP zones were not only lvl Specific, where you had to be above a certain lvl to enter, you were also automatically SK'd down unless it was the lvl 45+ zone of Recluse Victory where you not only could PvP against players of the opposide side, but also got to encounter NPCs of the Key Lores, Lord Recluse, Ghost Widow, Sirrocco, Black Scorpion & Mako for the V side & Statesman, Sister Psych, Maticore, Positron & I forget the H on speed, lol.
Dark Astoria was once a Heroes Side only Zone that became a Co-op with End Game content for the lvl 50s, with only one other widely used Co-op Zone the Rikti Crash Zone.
Unfortunately PvP was also severely "nerfed" several years (& Issues) ago before the shut-down. I'll admit I was never a serious PvPer, but some of the "raids" organized b4 the PvP nerfs were rather entertaining, even for this serious PvE'er. The hard part is finding the balance & am sad for those of you whom PvP have had that aspect here either nerfed or neglected the way it ended up being in CoH.
Bug and Balance are both very small problem. Ah yeah I want bit more love for melee tho.
Do you remember ZA recent days about years ago? That was very unbalanced but we had excited and enjoyed enough win or lose no matter, cause we had huge motivation for doing it. We could get something good like power replacer costume unlock, good gear, Perks, but now, just 2 type of Malvan scraps...
Ah no worries I'm doing G farm and Q farm just making small wish for some day COPvP system are fixed and be better.
And for PvP, I'm spending good time on Gundum Online.
I'm also making wish CO become back as my main game but they are selling Keys not Contents.
Sadly, I became the last Japanese gamer in CO for now.
Japanese Champions Online Wiki, Community, Blogs, Threads are all stopped update and some of them started closing down.

Exactly. People had the motivation to play hero games. Because of rewards. Anything you ever name about the lowered population of pvpers all lead up to the lack of rewards.
I doubt anyone would be proactive enough to do this more often than it happens now.

I am a PvE-er, and at this point I don't expect anything new except more of the same "but wait! there's more!" pacifying. If it's not fixed, don't break it! Just look what happened to Imbue, Bountiful Chi Resurgence, and IDF.
You could make more money off PvP using keys/lockboxes/devices etc. Saying this only because some people believe devs are money focused. Not gonna lie i think the same.
Devs aren't money focused, because if they were, they wouldn't have banned entire countries of people who would pay them money, they would've created a quality product years ago, and Atari wouldn't have felt the need to walk away.
I rarely post on forums or make threads, even i felt like i must communicate with a dev or someone who is responsible. Since devs dont even bother replying the tickets , had to make a thread.
That's the only reason I started posting more often in the first place. I still like the 'one stat' idea. :P

Yes, the ones who are left for PvPing are the ones playing it just for fun not rewards. I agree with you.
PvP rewarded gears are supposed to help you get better in PvP. 3 slotted Malvan gear you are earning from PvP doesnt really help you to do any better againts 4 slotted Legion gear but make you worse instead. So yeah, i call that being outdated.
Devs aren't money focused, because if they were, they wouldn't have banned entire countries of people who would pay them money, they would've created a quality product years ago, and Atari wouldn't have felt the need to walk away.
It was the PWE who banned those countries not the devs of Cryptic.
CO's policy has changed since Atari sold it to PWE. That's why you keep seeing more and more new grab bags or lockboxes in every big update and less content. So can you tell me why cant you drop the cosmic keys from PvE ? You literally have to buy them from Z-store or from who has bought them from Z-store before.
Grab bags were gained by the same way too. You drop those lockboxes in game but you cant get the keys which open those by in game currency but real money. So, how can you tell me that devs arent money focused ?

I don't. I don't have access to any more legion gear other than the two that I have, so it's not outdated.
It was the PWE who banned those countries not the devs of Cryptic.
Okay, but...

Because they don't even have a development schedule and they're unprofessional. If they were money-focused, Atari wouldn't have given them the boot. That's what happens to arrogant companies that fail to deliver a quality product.
Because they don't even have a development schedule and they're unprofessional. If they were money-focused, Atari wouldn't have given them the boot. That's what happens to arrogant companies that fail to deliver a quality product.
So all of a sudden Atari is savior of the world and you have faith in it like its the son of prophecy. Why do you believe in Atari that much ? Atari announced that they were willing to sell Cryptic Studios, by that one can simply understand any company who are willing to pay good money for it is okay.
Atari CEO wasnt like "Oh those guys are money focused, I'm not gonna give my Cryptic to them". PWE offered good money, Atari gave them the boot.
Let's try to not to get far away from the main topic please.

I doubt anyone would be proactive enough to do this more often than it happens now.
People's attitude is wrong about pvp and games in general. Most people only play to be rewarded and not just because it's fun. It's much easier for me to get a Malvan emblem than it is for me to get Legion gear, so it's not outdated for me.
It took 3 years to fix the reply-to-tell button in the tailor. What else did you expect?
I am a PvE-er, and at this point I don't expect anything new except more of the same "but wait! there's more!" pacifying. If it's not fixed, don't break it! Just look what happened to Imbue, Bountiful Chi Resurgence, and IDF.
Devs aren't money focused, because if they were, they wouldn't have banned entire countries of people who would pay them money, they would've created a quality product years ago, and Atari wouldn't have felt the need to walk away.
That's the only reason I started posting more often in the first place. I still like the 'one stat' idea. :P
Let's see if a snowball can escape from hell.
PvP rewarded gears are supposed to help you get better in PvP. 3 slotted Malvan gear you are earning from PvP doesnt really help you to do any better againts 4 slotted Legion gear but make you worse instead. So yeah, i call that being outdated.
Haha, i agree with you here.
I don't. I don't have access to any more legion gear other than the two that I have, so it's not outdated.
Okay, but...
That doesn't mean it wasn't horribad before.
