Honestly, I won't even touch another Cryptic game after how they've handled this one.

You may be shortchanging yourself - STO is pretty fun, almost as much as CO.

I'm even willing to give NWO a shot - as a free-to-play, at least until I know what it's like (I won't sub STO because there doesn't really seem to be a point to doing so, for instance)...

The big "IF", when it comes to whether or not I'll enjoy NW, is "if" they'll have some sort of "travel powers" there. The freedom of movement is one of CO's greatest attributes. I'm not expecting full flight, but if you have to do a relatively slow run to get everywhere, then I'm gonna be highly discouraged from playing it...

they have mounts as you can get a spider one from an expensive hero of the north pack along with several others. There's even a giveaway by pc gamer for the beta access and you get a free mount right now.

So it seems from horses to other things, you'll be riding stuff to get around.

Don't care. Don't care. Don't care. The market's already saturated with Medieval high fantasy games.

Yeah, it's one of the things I didn't like about Guild Wars.

Gimme a bike or a pogo stick, anything!

Well, I checked out the Founder pack thing - not that I'd buy it before trying the game, but I'm curious as to whether you'll be able to fight while on your mount.

Even without a mount, I still think thieves/rogues should get some sort of acrobatic movement, while warriors and maybe clerics would get a battle run for of movement, and perhaps casters a more generic levitation/levitating disc form of movement.

From what I've seen in videos of gameplay, conventions and interviews each class has a movement-type schtick. They are used by holding shift while pressing a movement key. Rogue is an evasive tumble, Wizard is a short range teleport, Fighter blocks with his shield. The Fighter one might actually be slower than regular movement though. For really covering ground you need to mount up.

I am a long time over the table D&D player, played neverwinter 1 and 2 and the DDO mmo, as such i was really looking forward to neverwinter nights mmo.

BUT their complete neglect and lack of support here means i wont even look at it until they get their house in order and show some support! Im not about to put support and invest time and atachment to a game run by a company with so much disregard for its games.
