I can't help but wonder if Champs and STO would also be up there on the chopping block if the PWE sale never happened.

Still not sure if we are better off with PWE...

Yes, the possibility of being bought up by a company that would do absolutely nothing with the game is a better alternative than what we have now.

Assuming there would still be a Cryptic at Atari.

Well, if you read the article the U.S. based portion of Atari is doing this to seperate itself from its failing French-based parent company. The U.S. branch was actually still making a small profit of $4 million a year.

    Gotta love corporate maneuvering, eh?

To be honest, I very much believe we are better off without Atari.

Being a refugee of corporate "realignment of focus", no, no I don't.

That Atari died before Kurt Cobain. This one sliced off its face and wore it as mask

And yes, things are much better under PWE... For STO.

Bad like things can be it is always better that to be closed down, because that it is what would have happened if PWE dhad not bought from Atarri the publishing rights. We could say that we had a close call

I am always curious what people would think would change for a product that isn't exactly pulling in the numbers if they believe Company X would have bought us.

Bugs aside from their products, I can't imagine Bethesda, if they did buy Cryptic, would have put much more into the product than is being done now, not with TESO starting beta sign ups now, and of course it most likely being in competition with NWO which would hurt two fronts of players.

If CO was bought by Valve:

    - improved storytelling
    - better voice acting
    - less bugs
    - even more lockboxes
    - future costume sets will only contain hats

    - improved storytelling - Subjective and highly doubtful
    - better voice acting - Very subjective
    - less bugs - hahaha... oh you're serious BUAHAHAHA
    - even more lockboxes - At an increased price no less.
    - future costume sets will only contain hats - Fairly accurate to boot

    Well there are my answers.

    Its a crappy circle.

We have no money coming in cause the game has gone little to nowhere since Vibora as far as new things to do-like story lines and zones to explore. I will never awknowledge Alerts as content.

So people have left. No money coming to to make things to get people back...sigh.

Add in no motovation to believe this game will go anywhere so the vocal fans on the Forums are angry-percentagewise.

I just really wish NWO was released just so we could see if we can get more help over here.

Chapter 11 isn't "OMG we're going under!!" It's just corporate restructuring. It's nothing at all what most people think of as "bankruptcy".

I have day dreamed of Champions Online + Source Filmmaker for years.
Just a matter of time before something close enough comes along.

I'd like to take this moment to remind everyone that Atari is not actually Atari. It's Infogrames wearing Atari's skin, like Buffalo Bill... So it's really Infogrames is selling the Atari Logo.

That is both an accurate summation of the situation, and intensely creepy.
