Any chance we can bring STOs new "Skip to Character Select" option over here?

Was just looking through the patch notes for STO's new season and came upon this interesting little tidbit:

    Well, they allready brought the vehicles over, might as well start bringing over stuff people would actually want.


    Oh wait... players actually want it? Sorry, not a chance.


    BUT HOW ABOUT THIS! :D

    Instead of logging out and then logging back in to change characters, you now have to run a mission to "rescue" your other character before you can switch to playing them! Then of course you'll have to do the old log out log in routine. Also there will be a giant locked steel door at the end of the mission; buy our new "Character Select" lockbox for a chance to get a key to that door, or even some super exciting drifter salvage!

    Yes, logging out just to switch characters is stupid... and we've been doing it for 3 years now. I think we're all tired of it.

    Its all you're gonna get for January and most of February. Took a dev a whole hour to implement which cost Crytpic ten thousand dollars (In man-hours? How does average salary equate to that?).

    I think that's the reason that was given in the past for why switching characters is done the way it is...doesn't really make sense to me.

    Really, they had similar such reasons when they ran CoX. Turned out it was nonsense and the "log off to character select" was implemented after they were gone.

    Why this option wasn't part of the game since day one and why it's taken this long to implement it in one of the two games is also the reason why Cryptic probably shouldn't exist anymore as a company.
