Chat banned due to....

So this character by the name of Kimie gets all upset and starts to insult me and call me a "runner" after a duel. I'm on my pure melee build that I threw together to try and enter into the melee tourney. The only ranged attack I have is a lunge. I responded that Kimie calling me a "runner" was silly because of the fact that she was running the entire time. She's using a ranged PvP build that's using the exact same combo every single time. EgoSurge, MD, and 2Gun.
I pointed out to her that she was "running" the entire fight. She claimed that she wasn't running at all. Strange since I couldn't land a single root or snare on her at all. Now WHO would go and pick up the anti-snare/root spec from the spec tree for PvE? (Oh, she keeps on claiming that her build is PvE only) That combined with the lack of an AoE power screams PvP to me. Oh, her idea of not running was basically moving away from me while I tried to catch her while peppering me with 2Gun.
So, after several tries, I finally manage to knock her and get the win. It took me several tries because she got lucky, or I got unlucky, and she managed to get away from me after I stunned her from my lunges. Which caused me to have to back away and wait for her to try and use the exact same combo on me again because there was no way I was going to be able to catch her when I can't root/snare her (I don't even have a hold because almost all of the holds out there are ranged).
After all this, I then get the message that I'm chat banned. Again. :rolleyes: Wow. I mean seriously. Seriously. Wow. :rolleyes:

    After duel, bow and leave ring.
    Butthurt people will ignore/reportspam, when you try to have any kind of conversation with them. And they most likely call their "posse" for some butthurtcream.
    This is what you get when people are given tools that only GM's should have.

    It happens often people cant take losing so they get their buddies to report spam the winner. You should PM me and I will send you a list of SG's not to duel.

    To be honest... there's simply posting their thoughts, and then there's posting the exact same post here there and everywhere. It really didn't need to be posted multiple times. Other people have been chat banned and managed to post only once ( or zero times ) about it... her case isn't especially special enough. If anything is worth raging about, it's people who get chatbanned for announcing costume contests.

    Everyone's aware about the muting system being absurd. I remember having this @************* guy chatbanning me 3 times in a row within two weeks after duelling for the sake of it, didn't say a single word.

    But PvP wise, this is why I don't mind 2GM much, it's still fairly kitable with the 50ft range and you have an easier time to reset fights gone wrong.

    Appologies for those that think the triple posting was overboard, but I wanted to make sure that people on my friends list were aware. I was receiving /tells, but wasn't able to respond. So I wanted to make sure they knew and didn't think I was giving them the "cold shoulder". Not all of them are PvP folks ergo the reason why I posted in the "general" forums. If I wanted to spam/be a b!tch, I'd have posted in EVERY forum, but I didn't.

    As a side note, they should make the system do an auto-response to let other people know that you've been chat banned. Or just get rid of the player chat ban. I suppose that you'd see more problems with spammers in zone chat though.

    It sucks that this happened, but the cold shoulder is the best bet with people like this. Just don't say anything to them if you win or lose other than GF. If they're friendly, talk! If not, arguing over the internet will only cause you trouble.

    "More problems with spammers", like the ones we already have? Spam is like crime. You can't stop it, only regulate it. The player based chat-ban system is the wrong way to do it as it infringes on our rights as customers.

    Players should not have the right to control and/or limit another player's gaming experience.

    Those are the reasons because I avoid duels and dislike PVP

    I honestly can't figure out why Cryptic thinks a system like this is a good idea. Hell, I once frequented a forum where the admin gave everyone mod abilities for a lark, and the results weren't exactly pretty. He eventually re-demoted most of the people when his joke was over, but still... it served as an example why the general masses should not have such powers.

    In all seriously though Cryptic did think Rob Mahogany's voice was a "good idea" at the time. The spam report system is just one step above that in things that are ****.

    If they had not implemented the system, they would have had to pay someone to GM. It was put in to reduce overhead back when gold spammers were considered a possibility. I view it as the ultimate "sod off" from Cryptic to its customers.

    Don't worry about it too much. I've been chat banned so many times. And yet no matter how many times I am chat banned, it still remains that I am such an amazing player, person, and all powerful who alw-...Wait...this thread isnt about me?
