Heh, yep doom and gloom is always about.

As an ex-CoH player, I know nothing lasts forever. So, I don't know if I'm going to be here for a long time. But, for however long it lasts, I'm going to have a good time, and not of bit of it will be spent brooding over what the future may bring.

@jonsills - The link in your signature is very interesting.

Believe me, I'd give a lot to keep from turning another year older, but global destruction is probably a little extreme...

Technically that culture never made the claims that some kooks claim they did in the first place.

PS: I'd also say I'll be celebrating the end of the world in a game with proper lore regarding it, but then they'd say I'm being full of sunshine :P

Just to nudge the thread back within sight of the tracks...

The CoH forum moderators at one point calculated that 10% of their player base actually ever looked at the forums. And at best, 10% ever bothered posting even once.

PS: for all you doom-sayers and apocalypse watchers, I've taken steps to resolve that little issue. I've invoked a higher power, one who can certainly overrule ancient astronomers and out-of fashion pantheons.

I wrote a letter to St.Nick, and simply asked that I could celebrate Christmas on Christmas Day this year. Take THAT, Dec.21!

We must have an even lower percentage than that, considering we basically have the same 10 people posting back and forth in here.

The forums are both a place for me to leave complaints about things being done poorly, and praise & suggestions for improvements. Lately there's been a lot to complain about, and utter silence from the developers acknowledging the complaints and bug tickets have been heard... which just tends to amplify the magnitude of the doom & gloom (regular communication calms the community down).

In-game I'm more about just having fun and not stressing things. If I must complain, I try to take it to the forums or discuss in private with friends (but keep it limited in-game, because if they're playing the game they're there to just have fun not listen to what's wrong)

Anyways that's my two cents... *shrug*

I've seen this said many times now... I think it's time we make it official. Once you hit lvl 40, have all your unity gear, and have beaten nemcon, a window should pop up that says

"Well done Champion, now you are ready to face some truly fiendish villains on the Champions Online forums!"

And then there can be daily quests like "Post three times", and "Special Daily: Derail a thread!", and "Rampage! Flame War!" an encounter where we all group up and fight Smackwell, but it's impossible because he always ends up one-shotting everyone all at once at the same time.
