Intro
CO needs better advertisement, but since a well designed video with special effects and all that neat stuff would cost both time and money to realize, I'd like to suggest something more simple.
Why a new advertisement video?
While the existing videos are fine as they are, they kinda create the impression you're going to play as Defender, Nighthawk or Black Mask and fight like that. For somebody who does not know CO and sees that video, he/she probably will not get the main idea of this game, which is having fun by being creative and unique.
Here's my idea:
1. Record a video of creating one cool costume in the tailor. (from default costume to finished costume)
2. Edit it a bit and fast forward it, so it's short enough to be interesting to watch.
3. Add proper music.
Additional thoughts
I'd think it would be interesting and enjoyable to watch the costume creation process, e.g. how this blue-yellow-dressed lady turns into something awesome like a western heroine while having the Snake Gulch theme running.
You could take any archetype costume for that or something you can find on the preview page of costume sets, but I'd suggest using something not already given by this game, since this is the point of the video: Showing how you can make your own ideas reality.
Obviously, the video will need a proper beginning and ending to be attractive, but this idea only focusses on the main content of such a possible video used for advertising CO.

So how about this:
Daily Mission, you go to the tv studio where the news is broadcast from. Do an interview with a handful of questions and a range of a,b,c,d, choices you can reply with, then you get to choose from a series of pre-made cinematics with action and dramatic angles showcasing your character using their travel power, several attacks with our characters power set, geting a kitten out of a tree etc.
We can then save and showcase our nifty vid of our character to show others, have a great cinematic vid of our character being heroic awesome scary or even funny and the cool immersive experience of a hero having to deal with the media.
And this also functions as advertising.

I think Cryptic also understands that they have at this point had 244,020 new
players try the game this year with zero advertising expenditure.
Another thing is we just need more advertising in general. I've seen ads for STO around then interwebs, even took a screenie the first time I saw one. I don't know if CO is advertised... but I've never seen an ad. >.>
