Title says it all, I'm merely suggesting that the developers input a destructible environment type of engine into the game, and I know it's very well within their capabilities to do so with the current game engine.
It's easy really, ever notice that sometimes when you're in a duel, you get knocked back with such force into a wall or something, yet it leaves no crater, dent, hole, nothing? This would simply be an added feature of immersion, and it would be nice for the RP community as well I imagine. Being knocked so high in the air, that the velocity of how fast you were knocked leaves air trail marks, being knocked down from some place high that when you land, you land hard, making a small crater.
I would be happy with it just leaving a "cracked ground" decal where you impact, along with some debris, and the impact itself having some effect, like say damage and a quick half second stun. Actually being smashed through a wall would be cool though.
Oh it would also be neat if while jumping you don't have steering control over your character and if you hit a vertical surface you actually crash into it, rather than gently pressing against it and sliding down.

After a week of release of the *Champions Online-Wreck It!*, the Millennium City is in ruins, Ren Center is pile of twisted metal scrap, the roads are unusable for cars because the pavement is stomped to rubble. Canada's once proud mountains look like swiss cheese, holes punched thru. Desert is now a giant sand box, every rock formation that has stand their ground for aeons are now piles of sand.

Just as destroyed objects presently re-form (well, most of them, anyway; cars and patio furniture in Vibora Bay stays gone until the next maintenance), the damage done in this way would "heal" after a few minutes.
But I do think this would be a good idea, if it's possible. At any rate it should do a little extra damage if we Knock a target back into a wall or tree.
If there's concerns this could break the game maybe it could be isolated into a special PvP area set up for it?
Which could include a pvp kaiju map where the players are gigantic and destructible buildings are small!

I think it would be cool that after the object is broken we get a construction crew to show up and fix the broken object. Like they show up and 10 minutes later it is back to normal.
Letss see, lots of broken buildings, tons of craters on every inch of the street, a giant imprint of what looks like a body in the side of a mountian....heck I like the idea of destructible enviroments.

Wow, talk about painful...
I do know that if we are knocked enough we can actually "bounce" of walls.
My force char was KB'd of a building in Ren Cen and was able to hit the rec cen wall then bounce onto the floor.
I'd like it if force fields actually protected you from fall damage or at least significantly reduced it and allowed you to bounce
