Burst alerts and vehicle mods

This is honestly the very first strategy employed by Cryptic that has me utterly baffled.

Why exactly are vehicles restricted to being a store item (and no, the chest ones do not count as you need a store item to open those), yet apparently vehicle mods are not only dropping in Burst alerts, but clogging them up to such extremity that I've only gotten one character mod per run in three different burst alerts. I now have a gaggle of vehicle mods I have absolutely no use for.

You're restricting vehicle purchase to an elite group of veterans/paying members and making the mods so easy to acquire that they're literally accessible to everyone. What exactly are the value of these mods going to be on the market given that vehicles are so limited in accessibility? What is the point of running burst alerts if all we're going to get is junk that can't even be used unless we grind Q for a month or more, or break in and pay 15 dollars (10 on top of a subscription reward if you want one right away as a subscriber) for a low grade vehicle to stick these mods into?

This is a sales tactic that is entirely dishonest in my opinion. It's a blatant step in the wrong direction. But, I'm not here to complain. I'm here to make a suggestion to help the situation.

What I'm going to suggest is that the burst mods return to where they were before, but characters also get an additional 1-2 vehicle mods. There is now an event dedicated to grinding vehicle mods, there doesn't need to be vehicle mods laid on thick in an alert which used to be good for character mod acquisition. Vehicle mods should be made available to those who own them without being dumped in extreme amounts on those who do not have a vehicle, or has absolutely no chance/incentive of grinding/paying for one.

This is an opinion of course, but I think it's a logical standpoint from the perspective of a veteran player. I'm not targeting Cryptic per se, as I have no idea if this sort of thing is really in their control or not, but I'd like to see measures taken to keep the game friendly toward subscribers.

Subscribers get a 400 point stipend. This game has a LOT of costume sets said subscribers would really like to get. Said costume sets are in of themselves incredibly expensive, requiring two months of play (one if enough points have been collected to roll over with each purchase). Then hideouts came out, more stuff to spend the stipend on. Things got a little more icky as to how we spend the points, but it wasn't too bad. Now there are vehicles.

Remember the free hideout? Subscribers don't even get a free vehicle. You're forcing subscribers into a situation where they have to pay even more money to have the things they want. In this fashion, the game is becoming less and less subscription friendly. But, this is an argument for a different thread, as my only concern are the rewards of Burst alerts and how vehicle intensive they've become.

I did a Burst Alert yesterday and was really disappointed to get vehicle mods...
Ah well, another feature I'll play no more. *le sigh*

I'm starting to see more hero mods again. I think I just blew a fuse when I saw how many vehicle mods I was getting. I'm still averaging 1-2 vehicle mods per run, but I see cases where it's nothing but hero mods.

I still don't understand why vehicle mods need to drop here. If I remember right, they intended to keep vehicle content separate from hero content. Vehicles can't even be used on some of the bursts as they take place indoors, and vehicles aren't readily available to the bulk of the player base, so why reward us with vehicle mods in a hero oriented alert?

But I've pretty much cooled off now. I still hope the suggestion is taken into consideration as the scaling of vehicles to vehicle mods seems like it'd be heavily out of balance for the moment.

The point is the same as in making lockboxes such a common drop. Vehicles are exactly the same for vehicle mods as keys are for lockboxes. You get the stuff for free, but have to pay if you want to do anything with it.
It's one of PW's "marketing strategies".
