Reinventing the Weapons Drops

This is an idea I got for the game cuz I think Most of the ''Special'' weapons/Power modifications we find in the game was less powerful than the ''Upgrades'' we find in general.
I see almost no one with Fire axes ,Electric sword, Qularr Guns or Toxic fists for example!

I think a complete reinventing of the those weapons drops would add alot to the game!
-It would be cool if there was some rare, powerful weapons to quest for ala DIABLO/WoW style!

Weapons could be upgraded with Mods as usual.
But I also thought about something for Freeforms : Buffed weapons could fit more with all selfbuffs and energy forms (shadow , light , fire ,ice, ect) than before!

--- eX : A FreeForm Fire character would be able to quest for a Fire ''Axe/sword/,fist/,gun/ect'' that would do a lot of Fire DMG and could be greatly incrasse by the 'Fire Buff' he uses.

It would help create more defined and versatile champions. More variety and replayability.and would add more ''appeal'' for questing.
Most of the weapons I'm talking about was in the game but are very weak compared to the other good upgrades drops .
This is just an idea , what do you think ?

Those of us (probably in the minority) used to love the old Power Replacers for what they did. IE turn your regular sword into a flaming sword or give your extremeties a "power" effect, and etc.

The majority (I assume) of players hated them because they had some stats associated with them that a) never increased and b) usually were not the stats you wanted/needed.

So, what's a dev to do NOW?

    Well, new moddable Power Replacers?

Either the item has the EFFECT associated with it and a mod slot to determine the POWER SETS it is associated with

OR ... the other way around.

Regardless, the item scales to level. (More can be discussed and, has been, in various ARCHIVED threads)

Final question is, where do you PUT it?

Just bite the bullet and do it like DARK AURA. Make it fit into the device slot. This would actually allow for multiple items. Although, I would think you could only have ONE per POWER SET active/allowed. But, it would allow composite builds to have various PRs.

This answer to your question is going to sound much more flippant than is intended. My apologies in advance.

    ...Get a time Machine.

Cryptic removed the items in question from the game when they removed crafting (though people who had them already did not lose them).

Or buy them from the Old Ones that have stacked them in their banks. I'd say few hundred G's would be good price.
Not that i'm willing to sell mine....

mmmm .... hoarding .... I does it soooo much.

In point of fact, I still have 2 old Power Replacers still active on 2 characters.

My GREY (standard alien look) uses the Ghostbuster SMG replacer (makes it look like a ray-gun).

And my Gigundus (Galactus parody) herald, Harold of Gigundus (name is parody and intentional) uses a form of a PR that applies FEAR to all of his powers. So that his Life Drain is more effective. (Gigundus is a planet SNIFFER. He and his herald, which is my character, use Life Drain to SNIFF ... which restores us).

I'd rather see these return as a cosmetic power replacer. And they aren't in a random lockbox but instead in a "Gold" Recog store.

I agree, I would prefer them to be completely without stats and just cosmetic.
