  Think of the Lost Souls (Floating skull guys) from Doom, and make it purple.

  That's not a bad idea at all. It could fire stuff from its eyes and mouth, since the vehicles tend to need something visible to fire weapons from. That's definitely something I'd consider buying as a vehicle for some of my characters, it's MUCH easier for me to make magically themed characters than ones that fit any of the current vehicle models.
