Hello everyone! Welcome to my newest creation: Team Strykeforce.

What is Team Strykeforce, you ask? Simply put, it is a fictional Super Group that exists only in my imagination. All members will have one-word names that end in 'Strike'. Yes, the spelling differs from the team name and yes, it is intentional. The 'Y' looks better in the title than in the names. I plan full information for each character: real name, origin story, powers. If I leave out any important info that you are interested in learning, please let me know.

And just for the record, I've never been accused of being "normal".

Name: Nikki Freeman
Age: 23
Birthplace: Salt Lake City, Utah
Powers: Fire/Earth

To say that Nikki Freeman comes from an unusual family would be putting it mildly. Her father, Scott, has a family history dating back nearly one hundred years to a rather bizarre union between his great-great-grandmother and a fire demon. The demon's powers passed into the bloodline and but wouldn't manifest for several generations. When her mother, Suzanne, was the same age as Nikki is now she took a mountain hike that turned into disaster when an earthquake struck the area. Trapped in a rockslide, the young woman was rescued and healed by an earth elemental. The elemental told her that one day she would have to repay the debt.

At age fourteen, Nikki's parents seperated and she chose to live with her mother. The divorce was finalized a year later. Suzanne and Nikki moved across the country to Middlebury, Vermont. Her mother said it was to start a new life but in reality she was attempting to get her daughter and herself as far away from the earth elemental, and it's uncollected debt, as possible.

When Nikki was twenty her mother told her about the elemental. She wanted her daughter to be prepared in the event that it came to collect in her lifetime, or so that Nikki could pass on the information if, one day, she had children of her own. Suzanne also told her about the demon blood from her father's side and that she had no idea how, when or even if the power would manifest. The only thing Suzanne kept hidden from her daughter was the inoperable brain tumor she had been diagnosed with, the very reason for telling Nikki everything. A strong woman, Suzanne lasted six months before she passed away, a week shy of Nikki's twenty-first birthday.

Scared, confused and alone, Nikki went looking for her father. They hadn't spoken in nearly two years, a conversation that ended in a fight, but at that time he was still living in Salt Lake City, so that's where she went. When Nikki got to town she went straight to her childhood home where she believed her father still lived. Too late, she discovered that the house had burned down almost a year and a half ago and that Scott Freeman had died in the fire. An elderly neighbor, Mrs. Johannson, told Nikki all this and had a letter for her. She said it was from Nikki's father and that he told her if his daughter came looking for him, and he was not around, she was to give it to the girl. In private, Nikki opened the letter and began to read:

My Dearest Nikki,

Hello angel, I have missed you so much. By now your mother has told you everything and I'm sure you have a lot of questions. However, if you are reading this you know why I can't be there for you and for that I am truly sorry. Unfortunately, I can't answer your questions either because I simply don't have the answers. Yes, the blood of a fire demon runs through our family tree but it has never manifested before... until now. Our last conversation ended badly but I want you to know I was not mad at you. You see, the demon's power became active in me at that time but it was too late, I was too old to control it. Eventually it will consume me, even now I struggle to keep it in check. God, the PAIN! I want you to know that I am sorry, sorry for placing this curse upon you, sorry for not telling you sooner. Most importantly, I'm sorry for not being there for you over the years. Seek out the Champions in Millenium City, maybe they can stop it from happening to you. At the very least, they might be able to help you control the power before it destroys you. Always remember, demon blood or not, you will always be my little angel.

Love,
Dad

Nikki went home and began to pick up the pieces of her life. She never went looking for the Champions as her life was just too busy to uproot and go to old Detroit, especially for something that might never happen. The next two years passed quickly and Nikki, now twenty-three, had developed her mother's taste for mountain hikes. It was during one of these hikes that her world was turned upside down yet again... the earth elemental had come to collect on the debt. It said she would be a champion for Mother Earth and it would bestow upon her the ability to manipulate rock, stone and dirt but she would forever be change by this power. It didn't know about the demon blood within her. When she recieved the power of Earth it also triggered the Fire power of her demonic heritage. The two forces merged, leaving Nikki with the ability to control both Fire and Earth but the backlash destroyed her body and it was rebuilt around the powers she contained. Now she is a force unlike any other in the world but she would never again look, or be... human.

Horrified by her appearance and fearful of losing control, Nikki never returned home. She hid herself away, deep in the mountains of Vermont, so that she wouldn't cause damage or bring harm to people. Over the next couple of months, Nikki gained a degree of mastery over her abilities. It seemed that the power-merge created a sort of balance between the two. Her Earth powers were somewhat suppressed because they were keeping the chaotic Fire in check. This in turn prevented her from being consumed by the demonic energy, which is what happened to her father. She learned to manipulate her rocky form, stone being physically dominant, and enhance it with fire, the dominant metaphysical force.

One day, the strangest thing happened... she was approached by a man. He seemed to know exactly where she was and, more importantly, who she was. He said his name was Kilver Blackheart and, while he couldn't change her back, what he could do was help her better understand her abilities. He told Nikki he was forming a group, comprised of unique individuals not unlike herself. A team dedicated to championing the cause of justice, combating evil in it's many forms and helping those unable to defend themselves. "Help take back our world from the forces of evil", he said. "Go to Millenium City and if you're willing, join the team... Team Strykeforce!"

Not that you need to change anything or any of that...just wanted to point out there was a Strykeforce comic book. Stryker, Phade, Bloodbow, Black Anvil, Killrazor, Icarus, Tempest...ahhh good times.

Anyway, just a similar name but I thought I'd point it out so you can avoid other similarities even by accident.

    ;)

Wow, thanks for the heads up, solardynamo. I never heard of that one so I looked it up on Wikipedia. Hmmm, Codename: Strykeforce.... Team Strykeforce. Yes, definitely an unintended similarity. But now that I have that info I can insure that I avoid any potential copyright infringement. Well, if anyone has a problem with it, I can always change the spelling to Strikeforce.

Thanks again and I'm glad you like it so far. Stay tuned, there's more on the way!

    File Number: 23657982

    Name: Shamir, Caleb

    Codename: Cyberstrike (see attached photo)

    D.O.B.: 04/22/1980

    Former Affiliation(s): Mossad, CIA
    Current Affiliation(s): Team Strykeforce

Abilities: Above average speed, agility, coordination It should be noted that these were not Champion-level powers
Training: Expert in Close Quarters Combat (Hand-to-Hand, Single- and Dual-Handed Weapons), Espionage, Infiltration, Elimination In and out, like a breath of air

Status: Deceased (02/16/2011)--Falsified report; Re-purposed (06/10/2011)--Interesting choice of terms, makes him sound like refurbished equipment; M.I.A. (12/29/2011)--Status no longer updated, see end of file

Caleb Shamir was born to an Israeli father and an American mother. He attended school in the United States and spent the remainder of his time in Israel, maintaining dual citizenship. He excelled in all physical activities; from various sports and martial arts training to running races and even outdoor adventures like camping and hiking. He continued this all the way through college, at which point, he was approached by members of the Mossad, Israel's intelligence agency. Many closed-door meetings followed and he eventually dropped out of college and joined the agency. After several years of training he was placed in the Collections Department, where he engaged in intelligence gathering, covert operations and counter-terrorism. It is also believed that Caleb was a part of Kidon, a secret department within the Mossad allegedly responsible for assassinations. All true except for the part about Kidon involvement, which remains unconfirmed

With his enhanced reflexes making him one of the agency's best, Caleb was tasked to be part of an experimental program, a joint operation between the Mossad and the CIA. Partnered with an American operative, Emily Clarson, they became an elite two-person team, exceeding the expectations of both agencies. Perfect partners on the job, they became the perfect partners in life as well, falling in love and happily tying the knot on March 25th, 2010. Emily and Caleb were married for nearly a year when tragedy struck. Like a Shakespearean play, tragedy almost always seems to fall upon those who seek to do good and those happy in love.

Intel was acquired regarding a possible threat from the terrorist organization, Hezbollah. It was believed that they had gained the services of an exiled Russian nuclear scientist to create a nuclear bomb, with the intent to use it against Israel. The intel was deemed reliable and the duo was given the mission. The objectives were simple: destroy any work done towards completion of the bomb, or the bomb itself if already finished, and the elimination of the target scientist. Unfortunately, Hezbollah leaders were somehow aware of the Mossad/CIA surveillance and had supplied false information. Caleb and his wife walked into a trap. As they entered the building, superior survival instincts kicked in, warning them of the danger and they began to abort the mission but it was too late. The building had been rigged with explosives which were detonated as they headed towards the exit. Caleb was thrown through the door by the explosion but Emily was caught directly in the blast. She never made it out. The loss of such an extraordinary agent is always a bitter pill to swallow, but it would shape Caleb into the hero he is today, his tortured soul notwithstanding

Caleb was pronounced dead but there was still a spark of life, although extremely faint. His body was so badly damaged that the doctors placed him in a medically induced coma while his arms and legs were amputated. He was kept comatose for almost four months at which point he was brought out of it. Shocked at the loss of the appendages, he was completely devastated by discovering that not only was Emily dead, she had been two months pregnant with their first child. She never had time to tell him before her life was taken away. Unable to take his own life but wishing for it to end, he pleaded for death. The Mossad leaders were unwilling to give up such a valuable asset and they approached Caleb with a proposal. The Technology Department had been working on a cybernetic system design, codenamed Project Terminator. Yes, it is believed to be named after that movie from the 80's

As part of Project Terminator, the remainder of Caleb's body would be fitted into a prototype cybernetic exoskeleton. Designed for speed, strength and flexibility, the suit was superior to a normal human body. Even without his limbs, Caleb's preternatural synaptic responses would take advantage of the suit, bringing his abilities to near-superhuman levels. The persons in charge saw this as the next stage in the evolution of the super soldier ideal. Caleb only saw it as the means to an end: seeking revenge for the deaths of his wife and unborn child. He readily agreed to participate in the project. Unbeknownst to anyone, this would be the beginning of Caleb's fall from grace

Caleb and the exoskeleton bonded on a level beyond what the scientists had ever expected. It was as if the suit actually was his natural body. His speed of thought increased tenfold and the body responded accordingly. In short order he was declared ready and cleared for active duty. It wasn't until he was back in the field that they discovered Caleb was unable to accept the loss of his family. He destroyed Hezbollah locations indiscriminately and killed its members when capture was deemed possible. Aware that Mossad was about to take him in for evaluation and possible deactivation, Caleb abandoned his duty and went after the terrorists on his own. It is assumed that Mossad had Caleb fit with a tracker for just such a reason, it is also assumed that he found and removed this device

It wasn't until Caleb, in his revenge-filled rage, accidentally killed an innocent bystander that his humanity began to return. Overwhelmed by guilt, he realized what he had become... a terrorist, not unlike those he sought to eliminate. He retreated from the world at large, fearful of becoming a true monster with no care for human life. This is where I entered the picture

His hiding place was discovered by a man, Kilver Blackheart. Mr. Blackheart had a proposal for Caleb, one that could help everyone. In exchange for joining a special team, Mr. Blackheart would help Caleb overcome his grief and guilt, allowing him to be a functioning member of society again. This team would also help him become the hero he was meant to be. How this man knew exactly what Caleb was going through, he would not say. In the end, Caleb was told to seek him out in Millennium City, should he choose to accept the offer, and the healing process would begin at once. Also, Mossad was payed a considerable monetary figure to forget about their wayward agent, never to seek him again
