What do you like about the Reloaded Alert?

edited November 2012 in Champions Online Discussion
I think it's very obvious what the vast majority don't like, seeing from all the other threads in this specific forum about it. That's not what I want to know here, not what this thread is for.

I want to know, what do you like about this latest Reloaded Alert?

Others may disagree, and your opinion may even be wrong, but your entitled to your opinion. So let's have it. Name at least a few things you like.

For me:
  • Like the changes to the power sets, yes even Imbue (major change there and thanks for the RetCon). Archery, dual pistols, shred, etc. all got some good upgrades and not too much. Slight buffs to those. Good stuff.
  • Like the new queue interface, looks much sharper and easier to read
  • Like the 2D art done for the "tutorial" and the icons for the new stuff
  • Starfox references. Too bad I can't actually do a barrel roll.
  • The new Alert, it's nice to see it finished and it's a new type of battle (air). (Now if people could only work as a team that would be lovely)
  • Uranium Core was fixed finally, ty!

I think the vehicles are overpriced, and the until sky command mission is overly difficult and for questionable drops.

I haven't noticed the powerset changes. But I will have a look

2 gun mojo is a beast now, which makes pistol themed toons way more powerful. Pistols, got some nice buffs in general and i plan to roll one when i get the time.

The new alert is fun, and i like how has various objectives. This would have been a great moment as a boss fight in an adventure pack. Way better than the Cyberlord air ship fight.

    PVP is starving without rewards

    1. Please give us Daily PVP missions that reward Questionite.
    2. Please give us an exchange rate between Acclaim and Recognition so that PVP has access to all "On Alert" PVE rewards.

    <3 Pistols.

    <3 The buffs to pistols.

Now I can stick in theme AND have decent attacks. Shweet.

    - The Two-Gun Mojo buff

    - The Skycarrier mission

    - The fact that now the daily that involes the custom alert gives you some Silver Champion Recog (even if it's not much)

New Imbue is probably the best AO in terms of pure DPS, doesn't have the utility of the others though. Dual pistols changes were much needed and much welcome, haven't really tried the other powers. And yes, the mission hoverdisk is awesome.

I did glance through it at the start but I tend to remove myself from PvP talk since I don't really know much about it. PvPers value DPH and since I prefer PvE, I look at DPS. Simply put even at just the base Crit Severity, new Imbue gives more than 7% damage increase during it's duration. The higher your Crit and Severity are, the stronger it becomes. Napkin math says in my build it's a bit more than 11% damage increase by comparison LnL is about 7% and Ice Sheath is a little less than 11%. It's not a big increase in overall DPS, and I'm not going to retcon just for it since it doesn't have break free aspect and other benefits of AOs but in terms of just damage, it's pretty good. Didn't do the math for Ego Surge since without CON, it's worse than LnL for me.

Well, until I get my Gold back, I won't be testing out Two-Gun Mojo and the other pistol powers (that's what Officer Unfriendly is for, but he's Freeform).

So far, though, I did take my Invincible robot, Happifun Security System X-4, through the Sky Carrier mission, and it was lots of fun. We managed to win while still having two engines working, and I did my part without getting onto a hoverdisk (Happifun has a built-in jetpack, after all). Look forward to playing this one every so often, and probably either selling my upgrades through the AH or giving them to people, because I can't feature spending twelve bucks or more of real-world money for a pretend flying tank. (Maybe when the bikes come out, hint hint...)

I've been heavily bashing the vehicles in other threads but there is a lot right about this update, namely the power updates and bug fixes. I'm also really happy that despite a major feature has been added I haven't encountered any bugs yet.

But I'm still pissed that the vehicles were done so half-assedly.

You know, there were some good things that came out of the patch.

However, they've been overshadowed completely for me between my hawkwings becoming trash and seeing how the vehicles have been implemented on live.

    So nothing.

They fixed Self-less Ally without adding it onto the list in the patch notes. Makes me wonder if they know that they fixed it or if it is just human error skipping over it...or that it was too tired of being broken so it fixed itself and wanted to see if someone would notice...Well, Self-less Ally, I noticed and I thank you for fixing yourself!

Poor bug fixes...being overshadowed by 'greed' and 'entitlement' claims....what dark path must I walk down to find you lurking in? Though shadows grow darker and the night holds a certain comfort that nothing should ever feel....I'll find you...and I'll thank you..Just hold on...still

I like the carrier defence, but it should have been a rampage and give q like suckitar, bradley has a mission that gives 700q for carrier that i thought was daily but seems to be a 1 off since it didnt refresh at day reset...

The best thing in the patch for me is the hover disc device, that they wont sell me! here, take my money as its the only vehicle youll get any from me for!

It reset for me after 20 hours so it is a daily. I liked the mission alot (piloting a Hawkwing Command ship helped greatly) and it was sweet pulling it off with no engine loss and downing the Mega-D - there almost wasn't enough time to gather all the loot before being booted. The daily should give more Q though and the XP granted was weak.

A new ability to make transformer styled toons using costumes with color schemes based on vehicles.
Except that I have little use for vehicles except one vehicle for this one particular character.
Now, if only Cryptic could release costume set with vehicles parts and kibbles based on available vehicles...
Also, thanks for jacuzzi working again. Not sure for any practical use for it, but it's nice.

But I DO feel sorry for people who bought hawkjets before...

You know what I really, really like about this patch? It's something that's been glossed over a lot - even when mentioned, it was only in passing.

The patch was implemented on schedule, and NOTHING BROKE!! Chat's fine, the various zones are in the same shape as before, no notable rubberbanding anywhere, nobody's falling through the maps - it's great! And this at the same time as a major new feature has been added! (Feel as you will about the feature, you can't deny that there's a lot of coding involved.)

The coders are getting a handle on this monster! Now, when we reach the point that every big patch is implemented with no errors, we will have truly crossed a threshold in this game...

I'll give you that. That is a major step in the right direction. I'll add that I appreciate the balancing that was added to (in particular) force and other powersets. Makes it worth it to try mucking about with my Force toon again.

    • Changes to balance... yup I am a fan of imbue change
    • The change to the UI of the queues (wish the button was more visible tho... maybe with the alerts sidebar? )
    • Not having anything to buy this month! that leaves some stipend to catch up with costumes and TPs
    • The new alert looks gorgeous.. its 0 PUG friendly tho.. but I guess eventually that will get fixed

Well..I'll tell you what I LOVE about Reloaded.

1- Devs spent time on my beloved PFF! They made the defense stack properly so IDF, PF and FS all stack OVER PFF! AND! They fixed PFF shield regen per 3 sec  *Fangirl scream*

2- Two Gun Mojo Damage Buff - enables me to stick to my theme and do alot better damage!

3- Similar to 2 but on a wider scale, various Tier 0 Powers got a buff basically all round goodness

4- I can finally don my bikini outfit and jump in my hot tub and it SHALL BUBBLE!

5- The UNTIL Sky Carrier mission, it really makes my healer feel wanted and needed <3

The mission was fun. I liked the whole concept of fighting on the vehicle in the air. I would like to see the carrier expanded into a lair.

Unfortunately, vehicles--some much need power changes--and one new mission are not enough to make me, a paying player since beta, stick around. I need some zones, man, zones. I used up all the other zones, and now I am all out. Oh, well, I will check back in a year maybe.

I leave Millennium City in your hands.

Yeah love the carrier defence, but it should be a rampage and reward choice of q/vehicle mods for each item drop you win. Or at least have a higher minimum (but thats true of all the pugagble alerts!)

    1) I like that my pistol-wielding hero, Flag Speed, got a buff to two of his powers.

    2) I hear IDF is now protecting my Force Character's PFF, which is great. I haven't actually played him since the update yet, but in theory this is probably a nice update.

    3) I like that vehicle mods are now dropping from random mobs and Burst rewards. And seeing as how I don't give a flying fig about vehicles (even if I could get a flying fig!), getting those drops are a new source of G from the AH. (Well, at least until the market becomes saturated with them, but I've earned about a 100G so far, which is a lot to me!)

Not that it is part of Reloaded but like the OP said, I like the much needed buffs in the powers, the queue interface is a lot better (now if they would have a look at the remote mission selector in Socrates to make it less of a mess that would be great) As always I like the loading screens art they keep preparing for these. I also like that they added stuff to the questionite Store as well to keep the exchange somewhat balanced.

I also like the Veterans day freeform slot 50% off sale. Yea... one can dream right?

    Back to a positive note, at least for this thread. I like;
    • The new startup/load screen art
    • bug fixes
    • power adjustments
    • Queue UI
    • New Sky Command Mission (to be fair though it does need some adjustments)
    • New Ninja Leaves Teleport (I don't have it but it looks neat)
