I recently reinstalled CO on Steam over Christmas and the game worked fine until yesterday. Initally I got an unable to authenticate message whenever I tried to login. Thinking it's an issue with my firewall, I turned it off but to no avail. I decided to reinstall the game on steam and it became worse. Champions Online.exe would run but I'm now unable to see the launcher at all!
Infuriated, I decided to download the client again and install it on a seperate drive. And the problem persists, despite me launching the game using an independent client install, I'm still unable to see the launcher at all. Though Champions Online.exe continues to run and takes up memory in the background, no user interface window pops up.
sounds like the hidden launcher problem where the launcher goes to a virtual window.
two things to try to fix if it is the problem
1.
Launch your Champions/star trek Online Launcher. It will do the whole sit there on taskbar and tray with nothing showing.
Open up task manager (right click on task bar, select Task manager, or press ctrl+alt+del and select Task manager).
In task manager, minimize and then maximize said champions/star trek online launcher program through task manager (right click on the champs/star online application in the taskbar list.)
I downloaded CO literally like an hour ago from this very site. It's not working though, I'm having major launcher issues. "The patchclient got a message while it was in a state with no response function." I've now downloaded 3 new launchers each with the same issue! If that doesn't happen then the launcher starts, and it's hidden. When I do get it shown, it's showing the same "Cryptic Launcher Autoupdate" window and I receive the same Patcher error again. Any solution for that as well? Does anyone have a working launcher I could download?
Same error just hit me. Game was really lagging, so I logged off to reset it. Try to log back in, get this error. Tries two times then says "Unable to establish connection to Patch Server. Please check your internet connection. If problems persist, please contact Technical Support."
I also logged out earlier today and can no longer get back on the game.

download http://files.champions-online.com/ShowLauncherWindows.exe
run this program (if using win7 or vista run as admin) right after you launch the game. be sure you do not have any other windowed application running.

I'm now having this issue. I'm US based. Launcher tries to open, "tried connecting 2 times," error.

I've resorted to watching DSN on Netflix for my cold New England weekday evening off...
