Launcher not ..launching!

For some reason today the Launcher for Champions online is not connecting. I get the "Trying to update the launcher" Window, then after 3 attempts it says I have a connection problem...which I don't. The game worked fine lastnight, did they do something today that would have caused this problem?

    Logged out for dinner, and came back to the same thing.

    I got this very same problem, connection works fine too for everything except the launcher.

    Ive the same problem, too. I played fine yesterday, but now I'm stuck with the same problem as you. In the ERRORS log file, there is a not-so-enlightening message:

    "1 [1]: Launcher PCL Error The connection was idle for too long"

    Maybe it is related with all the in-game "server not responding" we had last week? It looks each time there is major change (ie : bloodmoon or vehicles update) they have major connection problems

    Also got the same problem, was playing fine until about an hour ago, logged off and now the launcher is failing to connect.

    Getting the same issue. Rebooted. Ran as admin. My connection working fine on everything except for champs.

    running "GameClient.exe" from C:\Users\Public\Games\Cryptic Studios\Champions Online\Live
    loads black background white cryptic logo and freezes there.
    (attempt to bypass launcher)
    Which led to : Fatal Error: Unable to initialize on-demand patching and connect to Patch Server: The connection was idle for to long

    Submitted ticket.

    I'm having the same problem, but the launcher only tries twice & never gives an error message.

    I just tried this myself too and the same thing happened...

    This is my situation. It seems to be a pretty common bug, so someone must have figured out a solution.

    Yeah, game won't run without the launcher. Period. Never has...

    Same problem here, regardless of whether it's CO or STO; two tries and an error. Additionally I am logged into the CO forums on my phone and can access them fine. I'm not logged into the STO forums and I get a "Page Not Found". Tried on my desktop computer and get "Page Not Found" for both CO and STO forums...

    Tings be borked in a major manner...

    Indeed. I don't expect miracles...but acknowledgement of the issue is better than what i've seen on other games at times.
    Suppose I'll keep watching 5th Element and checking back periodically.

    Anything "https://secure.crypticstudios.com/whatever" doesn't work either.


    Figures, I just resubbed not even 24 hours ago.

    The cryptic authentication server must be down or something because it's doing the same thing for Star Trek Online.

    Main website is -gone-.. as in can't be found. Like defaults to yahoo search to try to find it, lol.

    AND the launcher is busted.

    I sense some issues with old PWE. ANd with the way they drag **** at fixing glitches.. it could be a few days.

    Well... at least it gives us more time to play Halo 4, right?

    Because, unlike CO and STO's patch server right now, it works.

    It has been several hours since this launcher crap happened. It's my last day off, planned on getting some quality time in and now this B.S. Seriously P.W. you should give us a discount! I love this game above all other games I have played; Honestly the gliches and problems are a bit nuts. FIX THIS ISSUE SOON PLEASE!!!:confused:
